That’s sad commentary in itself, of which I agree with entirely. Not too far away. Bring on the BBL.
Test cricket is nowhere....

It's not that they don't miss at the draft it's that they have all the right systems in place to develop every one of their recruits
Whether at Box Hill or just through their training and high performance they bring players on consistently and effectively
We on the other hand are still unable to get this sh!t right
I honestly thought by now we would be seeing some steady improvement in these areas. Too many players arrive at our joint and leave having not improved or more worryingly become worse

Very happy with that.Tom Browne on talking footy going with dual captains at the blues or Cripps outright whatever it is there WILL be a change.Thank goodness.
Test Cricket will always be my #1, I just worry how we'll go this Summer against India without Smith and WarnerThat’s sad commentary in itself, of which I agree with entirely.

Enforced EBA requirements for time offRe: Mad Monday
Unless I really need glasses, when I walked into my gym today I saw Cam Polson running the treadmill.
Is there a reason a player wouldn't just work out at the club?
McGovern will get done at some stage during the trade period.
It's easy to forget the players that might not have come on at the Hawks, given the flags and on going success, but they had their fair share of misses or guys that haven't really come on, through development
2010 Draft 38 Hallahan, 55 Litherland
2011 Draft 38 Kelly, 53 Woodward
2012 Draft 28 O'Brien, 66 Brand
2013 Draft - 24 Hartung, 38 Garlett
2014 Trade O'Rourke (effectively pick 19)
2015 Draft 22 Lovell
They did really well from FA's and with a guy like Lake, but missed with Vickery. They also gave up substantial draft picks for Mitchell and O'Meara, rolling the dice on flags, yet the end is near for some of their better experienced players
We haven't been able to get it right in the past and while it is too early to judge what we have done over the last 3 years, it seems that the players we have drafted are well on the way

Mitchell hopefully announced after the end of the west coast season
We've beaten Hawthorn at this stage?
I'll take any win over those ****s.
He reminds me of the handbags at the cattery vs gold coast.**** Warner.
Quite enjoying watching him struggle in Canada/Windies.
Hearing anything about Shiel/Essendon?Indications yes but he's focusing on their finals campaign and we are respecting that. I'd be surprised but not shocked if hes at the hawks next year

One of the 27 footy shows is saying Ratts off to the Saints.
Will that have any bearing on it??
Hearing anything about Shiel/Essendon?
Bloody ripper. Hope he brings Gaff with him, then Shiel decides he wants to come.Mitchell hopefully announced after the end of the west coast season

No, that's a more senior role for Ratts and he isn't being looked at as a successor anyway. I think he was being moved on at the end of the year anyway
I don't know anything about Essendon. I wouldn't expect any reliable information about Shiel until Giants are out of the finals at the very least
One for the numismatists.Bloody ripper. Hope he brings Gaff with him, then Shiel decides he wants to come.![]()
Hawthorn built their dynasty off the 2004 draftKey word: lately
When were Thorp and Dowler? 2006?
Im a traditionalist, it’ll always be my No.1 as well. The fact I don’t look forward to it like I used to, that first ball at the Gabba, the lead up games, everything about it, just annoys me.Test Cricket will always be my #1, I just worry how we'll go this Summer against India without Smith and Warner
