The first time I heard this scum-sucker's name was in 2008, when he was bagging out non-white cricketer Andrew Symonds in the aftermath of Monkeygate. Ever since then I've had a low regard for the guy.

I'm sure he's had many a cringeworthy moment down the years, but questioning the conviction (beyond reasonable doubt, no less) of a child abuser must be his lowest ethical and moral point yet.

That said, should Pell's conviction be overturned on appeal then the likes of Bolt and quite a few Catholics will be galvanised - for them it will be like a triumph against those evil God-hating lefties!

My instinct is that the swinging centre don't care that much and so this will have next to no political effect on anything.
