I just don't see why you HAVE to pre-order in order to get what should be there in the first place.

I don't mind off cuts and such in games being pre-order bonuses (although scattering them between different retailers makes for an even shittier time if you really like the game and want as much of it as possible) but cutting out an entire class JUST for people that pre-order? Like that makes them better than anyone that picks it up on the day of release without pre-ordering. It just seems extremely shitty.

I'll pre-order and get the class, but I don't like the principals behind it at all.
Just to add to that, most of the time if i pre-order they dont have the shit promised anyway, so it's no point for me to do it.

That looks pretty great!

Is this the type of game that you need to play the first to understand the story type thing?
In absolutely no way will it be.

The first game's story was garbage and basically non-existent with zero payoff. Didn't ruin what was a very fun and interesting game, but there was nothing note worthy in the story at all to hang your hat on.

That has specifically been rectified for the sequel, getting in some significant talent to write on the story.

Ok thanks for that. I might pick up the first one as well as this when it comes out.
Looks like it will be a lot of fun!

I remember how disappointed I was with the first Borderlands. I was playing with a couple of guys, and after hardly any time at all, they decided it was shit and stopped playing completely. Not a fan of co-oping with randoms, so I just did single player, and eventually gave up due to it being a massive grind.

Love the look of the game, and can't wait until this one comes out. I'll need to convince people to co-op with me though.

Did it even have an ending??????

Loved it in co-op. Can not wait for this.

It was/is a game that you had to play co-op imo, i got to the party late and tried playing by myself but it was a grind and not much fun.

I've spent 3/4 of my time in Borderlands playing solo. The addictive loot mechanic is still as strong as it is in MP, without the squabbling over who's grabbing/buying what loot and the constant rush from randoms on the net. If you enjoy games like Torchlight and Diablo solo, this isn't really any different.

Playing with three other friends, however is of course optimal. Its still a blast in SP though, imo.

Yeah, I played a majority solo and had just as much fun as when was co-oping with the guys from here.

IMO it's harder to follow the game in co-op (with the mission selection system being confusing as well) and obviously having to try and share the loot becomes a bitch as well, especially if there's something really decent.

The loot was the most addictive part and made me keep wanting to go with the game...until that ending!

We had a loot rule. Chest by chest basis.

Anything that was dropped was fair game.

agree...this game is all about shooting heaps of enemies and leveling up your players skills. The story line is weak and you mostly spend time doing sidequests.

Awesome game which you can dump a heap of time into due player leveling and weapon customizations

I agree it is very enjoyable playing solo; I held off buying it for at least a year because I was hearing it wasn't worth it for solo, but eventually said stuff it after speaking to a mate who told me it is still a great game solo. Have not regretted it since, one of my favourite games now. Obviously is even better with co-op, but the single player still rocks, and it is so addictive.

Now just have to finish it before the 2nd one comes out.

Looking forward to this. Mate and me played through it on co-op on a tiny tv screen. Probably spent more time trying to get to the loot chest first than fighting enemies. Good times... apart from the "vault"

Pre-order bonus with EB contains a horde like mode.
Will probably be released later as DLC.
Not long to go now....

Do I need to explain why this is a bad idea? Was I the only one who played the garbage that was the Underdome Riot DLC?

The Underdome Riot DLC (basically horde mode DLC) was so bad that I completely lost interest in the series, and is the primary reason I'm not getting this game.

Worst $10 I've ever spent in my life, period.

A loss of $10 is the reason you won't buy an obviously brilliant looking game?

You Sir are a sad panda.
