Y'know, besides the Geelong, Richmond and Bulldogs supporting people who voted for Brent.

Voted Robert. Not taking anything away from Boomer, who still remains my favourite player to ever play the game.

Brent over Robert, now I have read it all.

Seriously, 1998 Robert Harvey was as good a season I have seen from a midfielder. that year he had over 500 kicks.
around 150 more than Brent has ever had in a season.

That maybe true, but only one player will end up on close to 400 goals and the highest ever recorded total for goal assists in the history of the game.

Very different players, and aside from their last names and longevity there is little to compare. Robert was a much better accumulator, that would literally run his opponent into the ground. Brent doesn't get the footy as much but sets up and kicks way more goals than Robert. I would also be interested in a stat that compares metres gained, as Brent uses his elite pace and smarts to run the footy down the ground, where he is able to use his elite kicking to setup shots at goal, or have 4 bounces, run around a couple of opponents and kick 1 himself.

I heard a stat in one of our games this year, that Boomer, along with Gary Ablett Junior is the only player in history to average a goal a game, goal assist per game and something else (memory escapes me).

At the end of the day, no one would argue you are wrong to pick Robert Harvey who is an undisputed Champion, but those that say there is a massive difference between the two are kidding themselves.

Banger average around 4.5 more disposals a game and Boomber had double the goal average of Banger.

Boomer for mine, scoring wins matches. He's a lot more accurate too.

410.266 v 215.200

Whops, i should have said in my previous post that Boomer will end up on or near 500 goals, not 400. Not bad for a midget.

Also, don't forget the most goal assists in recorded history.

Deceiving stat as they have only recently started recording them.

And of course Brent has kicked more goals than Robert, he's been a forward for half his career, Robert was a midfield from start to finish. It's like saying Brad Green is better than Chris Judd because he's kicked more goals.

R Harvey easily and that's without even considering that one was a significantly more team orientated player than the other.

The most recorded goal assists in history. In history. Of any player ever.

A history that started in something like 2002. Again, very misleading stat that shouldn't be thrown into this argument considering R.Harvey started in 1988. For all we know he could have more than Brent.

Could have, but didn't. Remember also that Boomer started in 1996. But anyway, i highly doubt Rob would have gone close to Boomer in that regard.

Well if that's the case then lets not compare posessions given Rob was a midfielder.

Seriously just **** off. Every time there is a poll involving North you deliberately troll the thread by voting the other player and then throwing in a cheap shot. I bet you would find a way to vote Justin Koschitzke over Wayne Carey.

Boomer has been a NM great and very good throughout his career. Rob Harvey is on a different level though. In the late 90's he was easily the best mid in the comp and a top level payer for many seasons. His best puts him on a different level to Boomer IMHO

Why do you care what clowns post in the polls board?

There has never been a time when this board wasn't a joke.

Don't think you can really take Brent over Robert if both eyes are fully open. Boomer is a wonderful player but Robert was a once in a generation player for a few reasons. Not a bad poll.
