Hey Mods, I’ve taken 1970crow off ignore and didn’t realise we had a bye thread, did you want to merge?

Just means I’ll have to keep him off ignore

Ahh never put anyone on ignore. Even the most annoying of us have some good points occasionally. Look at me. 😂

It’s been a frustrating first half of the season with a lot of frustrating games.

We’ve lost a lot of games we should have won (Bulldogs, Fremantle, Hawks) but we’ve also won games we probably should have lost (Port, St Kilda). Then there’s the okay performances we won/loss (Collingwood, Geelong, Carlton) and then two bad games (Bris and Rich). North probably the only game which we played really well.

We’ve had a lot of players injured and hard to get consistency with our best team. Somewhat related to injuries we have a lot of players playing below expectations (Thilthorpe, Murray, Soligo, Keays etc).

We have made some terrible selection choices and some terrible game plan choices.

And after all of that, we are only 1 win/loss difference at the bye vs last year.

If Curtin can find touch and get into the midfield which is what excited everyone so much preseason, Thilthorpe can get back to form after an extended break, and the other players lift + Keane back, I don’t think this season is lost.

I don’t think we’re winning the flag this year but a strong second half and a final win or two would be a huge positive and not completely impossible.

Unfortunately I think it starts with a loss to the Cats after the bye but I can see us beating WB, Mel, Port, West Coast and Suns. Lose to Sydney then an easier stretch of Collingwood, Essendon, Richmond before a difficult final 2 games.

It’s not all doom and gloom and think the team can turn it around. But will want to get a move on.

I wouldnt think Cook's drop off is any form of worry.

Probably not a bad time to have a bye

Feels like this season may go the way of 2018-2019.

Hanging in there scrounging wins against weaker sides before we inevitably crash and have a real bad last half of the season

We already know that. So 6 of our 11 games have been decided by 9 points or less.

Our losses for the year - 6 points (hit the front last qtr), 8 points (hit the front last quarter), 2 points (hit front last quarter), 52 points and 9 points.

Our wins for the year - 14 points, 28 points, 1 point, 1 point, 37 points, 68 points.

I just wanted to get a handle on where we are really at now we are at the bye.

Not really a betting man but dabble from time to time. Just thought I would check out what the crows odds of top 6 and top 4 were - see below

In essence for those who don't bet, the odds for the crows to make top 4 are $8.00 (8:1). So therefore if you put $100.0 for them to make the top 4, you will lose $100.00. Hoping that has cleared things up

Olsen has said the club is conducting a review into our injuries. We’ve had the 7th least injuries but 6th highest impacting our best 23, which has impacted our performance plus a hard scheduling draw, good to see they’ve gone the excuse route early.
What about the review on coaching or results?

Don’t they normally do that at seasons end unless circumstances dictate immediate action? *cue can of worms being opened *

What’s the difference to doing an injury review?

The "one game off last year" line has already started being used as a cop out by the club.

Does anyone think we'll have a 9 game winning streak at any point this season?

I suspect to do a coaching review, would be a more intensive exercise and possibly a distraction to the playing group? But I honestly wouldn’t know.

No. Especially because our draw this year from this point is much harder than our draw last year
