listen i know your all going to jump down my throat here.... but today i was at a cafe in southbank and there it was our recruiting manager sitting down having lunch with sam power from the bulldogs... its is going to be a straight swap for tim callan....

what are peoples thoughts here?


its worth a crack i suppose power is a top 10 draft pick in the super draft

So, I'm the recruitment manager and every time some random comes up and asks about it I tell them exactly what's going on.

I dunno, doesn't bother me as long as we don't get rid of anyone out of our best 22.

Yeah I'm not too sure why you guys are shooting this down. It is a very viable trade option. We aren't going to get a gun for Callan.

I think it would be more likely that we would be thinking of him as on trade material.

For eg.
Callan to the Dogs
Power to us then Power to Brisbane to play with his brother
Sherman to us . Handy H/Forward

Of course Brisbane does have a ruckman thats wants out. Cam Wood.
Now the Dogs and a few other clubs probably fancy grabing him but maybe if a certain ruckman playing for us wants out( apparently talking to Richmond) then maybe we can make a play for him

I really like the sound of that. Like the way Sherman plays,plenty of pace and likes to kick goals.

I dont think the Power, on-trade to the Lions will work for Sherman. He's a star and had a down year.

It would be like trading Griffen for Brynes.

DOnt want Power, dud, well not a dud but not nearly good enough to get a spot in our line up i dont think. Happy to allow Callan to dogs to give him more opportunity but not for Power.

Are you saying that you wouldn't like him on the list? Surely you jest?
Outside Chapman and Stokes I would rate Shermen ahead of anyone else on our list at the moment.
Varcoe is still 1-2 years away from being a good, consistent player.
Byrnes is a hack and cannot kick goals.
Tenace is gone and is more of a midfielder running back type.
Djerrkura is a in and under midfielder.
Davenport still not on senior list and more of a midfielder.
We are only a couple of injuries away from not having a quality crumbmer.
I for one think he would be a good pick-up.

Turbo, I don't think Wellsy would bother speaking to Power like that if he was to be on-traded.

Have I missed something? Sherman from Brisbane is a gun, Luke Power and Tim Callan are battlers, and older?! I can't see why the hell Brisbane would make that deal.

And Sam Power would not get a game at Geelong

Well we do have a trading history with them, so i wouldn't totally discount it, but for them to trade Power for Callen makes no sense.

Power for Prismall on the other hand make more sense for them i would have thought.
