Know you guys are smarting from missing out on Martin and need small forwards but the suns have a list squeeze and have some great academy small forwards that they may not be able to match bids for in Rosa , Oea and Gore .Well worth a look. All have Neafl highlight reels
Ah damn, Rosas is from out Katherine way and thought he wouldn’t be included in the GC concessions. Yeah he plays in Darwin because he has to but fk me those concessions are ridiculous.

He’s lightning quick, and has some neat skills. Definitely one that has a big point of difference.
While they have their concessions, the Suns don't need to match any academy bids, they just get to remove players from the draft pool for free.

Stephens - Small bodied but is like a Gaff styled player with under rated inside ability. Solid kicking skills. (Highly likely gone by pick 9)
Young - Best kick of the lot, just has not lived a lot in the midfield, but he has the talent. Will start forward or back (Potentially gone)
Flanders - Brute of a player, looks good forward but showed midfield ability. Dangerous forward of center. (Sneaky chance, but probably gone)
Rivers - Jack of all trades, just has not shown pure inside midfielder ability because of his ability to play everywhere. Great skills and decision making. (Most likely but I have not seen many experts rate him around pick 9)

Henry - Dockers
Maginness - Hawks
Hey mate what's your take on Cahill from vic country? I remember watching him in the champs. Had goal sense and was quite tough.

I reckon he would be good at pick 57 for us. What do you think?

I personally really like Cahill and in the BF Phantom Draft from a few months ago (Before trades) I selected him.

He reminds me a little of Ned McHenry who Adelaide drafted last year, maybe not the same level of defensive ability.
He also looks like he has midfield ability and you could see a 60/40 mix and play the role we attempted Curnow to play this year.

Hey Lemming what pick do you reckon Elijah Taylor will go at? Reckon he has some nice attributes.

I would hazard a guess at 15-40 mark, depending on a few issues.
1. Club needs
2. How he is behind the scenes. (I have heard there are some potential life issues that he has had to deal with)

I think he has more than enough tools to make it at AFL level. Certainly one of my favourites in this years draft pool, caught my eye when watching him live a number of times. Plays taller than his height, one touch player that knows how to kick goals. I would like to see him work on his defensive side to his forward craft and his frame, but watch this space if it all clicks.

You're talking my language, I am a big fan of Ruscoe, love to have him on our list.
I think I got the idea from you, to be honest, but he reads well and could be around the mark or we could trade into the second round. I think we could do with a tallish half back flanker (a want rather than a need).

Do we have leverage with Fremantle and Hawthorn? Academy and Father son bids will force them to use Pick 10 or 11 to match. They would be hoping to use these picks on other players and match with later picks.

We could look at upgrade on our later picks with pick swaps

Let’s hope he slips to us at 43 if not what do you think of Kossie Pickett at that pick, should be around this pick and could learn a lot from Eddie. Any other suggestions at this pick? Also I loved the game of Granger Barass against Vic Country really reads the ball well in flight and really showed his intercept chops, would have to be right up there in next years draft, any relation to WC Barass?

I am personally not a huge Pickett fan, but maybe at pick 43 it is a viable option.

I have a feeling that this year we will get Martin in the PSD and next year obtain Pap's, so drafting for forward needs may not be ideal. I would be just drafting best available. I would probably stay away from rucks and tall defenders. I prefer to steal rucks from other clubs and we have a current crop of tallish defenders.

Midfield elite runners with good kicking skills are a nice option.

Rantall, Ruscoe - They're two favourites thay may slip to our pick.

We could even consider a Garcia if his value has dropped due to his injury.

Still way to hard to know who is around at pick 43 to have a guess.

The BF main phantom draft is happening soon, so we may get a better idea how BF mug punters view the draft. Thomson Dow is another name that may interest us with the brother connection.

He showed to me an ability to move into the midfield. Strong above his head, elite running ability and strong at the contest. Has the ability to start across the back half and move into the midfield long term. I think he would not look out of place as a Gunston styled forward.

Ok Terry, freely admit to not having taken a scrap of notice re this years draft following the clubs well documented desire to trade our premium pick for established players.
I like the way you have laid out your phantom draft and added some reasoning.
Can you give us some more (height, weight, strengths, plays like ?)on this D.Robertson lad ?
Maybe some footage ?
WA has been good to Carlton recently so that’s a nice start ...

Robertson is an O.K size for a mid, 182cm and 80kg, still has to bulk up a little. He's an absolute ball magnet, knows how to find the ball and does it well. He's best when the ball hits the ground, as he always goes in hard and has really good hands when picking up the ball, rarely fumbles from what I've seen. Tough as nails, loves a tackle, all around fantastic inside prospect. Plays like a Treloar or Titch where he isn't a brute inside, but is quick and accumulates it a lot. Also by all reports is a fantastic leader, as he captained the WA U/18's side. I have a few ahead of him at our pick, but I would definitely not be upset if we took him either.

Tough, clean hands and gets plenty of it.
Definitely like the sound of him.
Should be available around our pick ?

Sounds a lot like Stocker :)
