J Henry and Kolo will have a massive impact when they come back in.

SDK and Cos, although quality players, are both suspect 1 on 1 defenders and were found out pretty badly tonight when they were required to defend. It has been a theme for both SDK and cos most of the season. Kolo and j Henry will settle down our defence massively and allow SDK and cos to play more zone style defence (and allow cos to get up the field more where I think he will be a menace).

One thing that gets lost is just how tough our fixture has been to start the year.

We have played

1st Collingwood away
2nd Brisbane away
4th Adelaide away
7th Hawthorn away
9th Freo Home
10th St Kilda away
13th Carlton away
14th Melbourne home

When Hawthorn win tomorrow they will probably jump to 3rd, meaning we have played the top 3 teams in the league.

Even our easy games are against the best of the rest not the true dregs like North and West coast.
Hawthorn was technically home game but at opposition ground.

Jeez David King likes having a sook, doesn't he?

Did he have anything to say last week, when the free kick count for the 2nd half was 11-2 Carlton's way? Or the week before when Hawthorn were similarly favoured? Of course not, because he's a one-eyed smoothbrain who barracks against us every game we play.

If Clark can just get his body right over another preseason, he's not far from clicking into gear as he has the toughness and the skills.

Mullin looked so good through the middle. I was hoping we saw more of this sooner. He's a powerful young man.
I really do hope Clark can make it. When we drafted him, my hope for him was that he'd turn out like Zach Merrett. That is very unlikely as Merrett is an absolute gun. If Clark can become the next Atkins, we'll still have done very well.

As for Mullin, he's still learning his craft. He does some silly things and has a few lapses in games, but he's got so much potential. You can see he has a lot of natural talent and he's a super athletic young man. I love what he did to Daicos.

I know he had some dicey moments, but I feel like people were a bit harsh on SDK. 10 intercepts, which was our most by a mile. 12 effective disposals. Mihocek kicked a few goals but they had overwhelming supply for periods.

Until the last few minutes I thought our defence was phenomenal. SDK makes the odd bizarre blue which masked a lot of good stuff he did tonight.

Fox commentators blaming the umpires for the Pies loss.

Cats clearly deserved to win that game
Pies were flying and Cats reeled them in
Cats had injuries and were inexperienced
They persisted, lifted, took their chance
Pies squandered three easy chances in Q4
Don't blame umpires for missing goals.

Commentators job is to stoke controversy

Every week there is a number of 50/50 calls
Most calls go to the player making the play
Umpires don't have benefit of instant reply
Even if the umpires did make the wrong call

100 percent a trip he tackled his legs, end of story. We were out played but we showed flexibility and heart that is invaluable, grinding out a win separates the sides at the end of the day.

COS another great effort, Mihochek went into beast mode for the last 5 mins but other than that he was amazing.

I don’t like O’Connor if he doesn’t have a job but as a medium small back he could be good, just keep him out of the center forward positions.

We won without Stewart, Miers and pretty much Jeremy Cameron.

Neale took some amazing marks to begin with but undid it all with his decisions with the football.

Please play Duncan again he just makes good choices and is a great kick.

Danger that was one of the best quarters I have ever seen. You lift the team week after week with your efforts.

Blitz just gives everything and I am thankful Stanley got an injury and it let him take over in the ruck.

What a win I am so happy and can’t really believe we somehow won!

Fantastic win, given the circumstances.

And hopefully with a game like that, we can once and for all put to bed the utter nonsense that gets spouted here from time to time about Danger. At different times we've been told that he's not that good, he's all about himself, and he really has been in the twilight of his career for quite some time.

Well if that last quarter effort in isolation doesn't put to bed all those ridiculous notions, I seriously don't know what will. That was as Selwood-esque as you'll see from any leader out on the field.

He's a bona fide champion and I am incredibly glad he plays for the hoops.

Watched the replay again and I think this might actually have been it. Saw a player out of the corner of his eye and mistakenly thought it was a Cat.

I'm pretty sure there was a Geelong player far over on the wing-i think it was Cameron but I need to watch the replay again. But he was little chance to get the ball there.

Arm/Hand legs him
It's a game of inches

The first contact is in the hips but then it clearly slips down and legs him. The controversial bit is they rarely if ever pay those but it's technically correct.

COS is doing outstandingly for a guy with less than 10 games but I agree he's not s brute physically and can get outbodied as can sdk. They need 3rd man in help and didn't get enough of it. If Stewart gets fit and Henry gets back it will help.
The ruck situation is still a massive issue though.

It's technically contact below the knees

I agree and I've got no issue with the call. But they need to be consistent and they rarely pay it let alone with 2mins to go.

I love that Daicos will still be thinking of Mullin tomorrow morning when the pain sets in and Oisin will have his mind on next week.
