Gryan has got a bit of fire with the Umps. So funny.

Mc Cluggage pushes Mullin on the ground, stands over him, won't let him up.

Gryan to Scrump: WELL THAT"S A FREE THEN! Oh we 're going to be doing that all day are we?

Check out the clip on The ROAR dot com.

Ha I heard that watching the replay but couldn't see who said it.

I don't think it was so much we gave up the game but maybe Scott thought we could win without pulling certain levers.

In hindsight we couldn't but we played very badly that game, maybe if we played well we could have won without those levers.

Agree. Of course we wanted to win it, but I remember that night Bris hands were faster than lightening, we were just so far off their pace. The levers you speak about have been created since then and refined the moment we knew they were our opponent. It's not just Scott, he's assisted by a whole panel of footy brains that would have dissected their methods to bloody shreds.
Even so, if the answer is to stifle them, you still need the cattle to keep whole game pressure on. As Scott says, it's a fine line, you've got two taggers, and he said knowing the Ashcroft boys, you just can't sit off them, and let others get off the chain, not allowing your natural game. The answer, as always, was our running intent.

All the planets aligned for us, but even without Neale, Bris Vegas is still a threat, if they learn from their overuse of handball.
Their coach moaned about that, wanted more kicks, forgetting we didn't allow that (and intercepted) wherever possible.

They all talk to Umps 50 times a game. The point here with this vision, was the physical aggression, with Rayner physically over the ump pushing him off walk line, whatever he was whinging about was aggressive. You can see that by O'Connor realising he was being lagged on, then joining the party, together with Guth trying to calm things.

The whole "chat" would be meaningless if not for what followed. That was, the Ump felt forced to listen and act. Dirty moaner, weak cheat, lagger and flopper, probably ruined Wallace's career.

They certainly are very banged up. I dont actually rate Collingwood but they will beat brisbane and get to a GF i think because of how injured Brisbane are. Which is good for us because I would be very confident taking on Collingwood in a GF.
Brisbane will have to get over the Suns first. They may have to much run for them.

the umpire watched them go back to the goal line where there was probably some mutual pushing, Rayner smacks O'Connor open-handed in the chest (out of camera pan range), and then watched Rayner go into the goal square where O'Connor catches up with him, gives him the forearm nudge, and Rayner goes down. Then the ump blows the whistle. :rolleyesv1:
Could have used Nigel Owens out there tell them to stop it, "it's not soccer".

Well roll me over and butter on both sides.

It appears, unless a hoax, that Cam Rayner is resigning from the Lions at the end of their season to train/make the rugby sevens team for Bris 2032? Said fages is behind him.
Is that correct? They dive in that game, right?
What a bastard he's not hanging around to be forever disbelieved and disrespected in AFL.

EDIT: Looks like he was playing an April fools prank. Whanker.

I saw the whole exchange happening 'right in front of me'. It didn't look at all like Rayner was intimidated him, it looked like he was just having a whinge to the ump about his treatment. It was definitely strange to see and the ump fell for it hook, line and sinker. O'Connor shouldn't have to change his legal behaviour because his direct opponent has complained to the umpire. Rayner was in his right to drop (I don't agree with it) but the ump needs to be smarter.

Also, the second free needs to be paid in the centre. Wild that that rule hasn't been changed.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict that the Rayners will not be receiving a Christmas card from you this year..

1. I hope that image is Blicavs passing Knevitt the torch, imagine the melts if Blicavs retires and Knevitt slots in for the Blicavs role for the next 10 years and we break opposition supports brains again.
2. Geelong fans don't underrate Blitz, most of the comments I see are about how sad it will be when he retires and how it leaves a massive hole in the team because there really isn't anyone like him.
3. He should have had 2 or 3 AAs, especially in defense or on the bench in 2019 and on the bench in 2021 or 2024. Severely underrated.

This is going to be such a hard game to tip.
Brisbane copped injuries, their Gabba form is hardly as imperious as it has been the last 2 seasons, their forwardline just isn't really functioning at the moment. No Daniher to provide a spark or magic up forward to drag them over the line.
McInerney was good in the VFL so do they bring him back in and use Fort as their KPF, I doubt they bring in Smith who has 2 AFL games but kicked 4 playing as a tall forward in the VFL in a SF.
They have to drop Cameron, he has been horrendous, but then if you do that they don't really have anyone in the squad who has his leg speed. Maybe Cameron gets moved to a wing or something to find some spark.

And for the Suns, big win against Freo and they will be up for this game but we have seen time and time again the team battered in a QF against an upstart who wins an EF and everyone during the week thinks a straight sets exit is on the cards only for the lower ranked team to get a reality check.
I think the Suns will win, I think their midfield will have enough for Brisbane especially with Neale out, but I am not confident either way.

I like Fort, but he wouldn't even be a good KPF at VFL level, let alone AFL.

The worst thing you can do after a big QF loss is over-react. Most sides that lose the QF go on to win the semi-final at a reasonably good clip.
