It amazes me how cheaply it is for a corporation to buy into an AFL club.... They get a ton of exposure and good will and the club supplies them with players on corporate days and a ton of free tickets. Emirates has got a huge amount of exposure from the club over the years for cost of a decent thoroughbred and certainly a lot less than a hotel in dubai. The CFC has put it on the map and it's doing the same with CGU. I find it a tad ironic that a lot of these companies are always whining about paying company tax which helps to build the infrastructure that supports them, but they're so so generous with a few million bucks to sporting clubs so that they can shout from the mountaintops about their social conscience...
