Good plan. If only we could execute itWin stoppage, limit turnovers...?
Sounds like a plan!
McKercher simply can’t be a continued selection.Based on training today, my new guess for selection this week
OUT: Fisher (Inj), Powell (Omit), ONE OF Corr/Logue? (Omit)
IN: Archer, Phillips, Kal Dawson
Interesting, but I suspect there’s more chance of me getting picked at half forward than Caleb DanielGiven some thought to what I saw last week. If we don't change our personnel, here's what needs to happen.
FOS: Move to Half-forward and be given some defensive responsibility. Put him on whoever is giving them drive out of the backline and get him defensively minded. If he gets some goal assists that will be a bonus.
Sheeze: to Half-back. Get creative and set us up.
Corr: Needs to second effort his defense. Shut-down his man first and foremost.
Daniel: To Half-forward. Pushes up into the midfield and half-back as an extra.
Wardlaw: Keep doing what you do.
Duursma: Bit more urgency, get to the next contest. Forward pocket pushing up to the wing. One out in the goal square would be interesting.
LDU: Be responsible for someone at stoppage. Plays best when he is tackling.
Colby: Run harder when we don't have the ball.
LMac: Been one of the few who has put his body on the line. Just needs to be quicker with disposal when deep defense. Not his fault that support is not always there.
Simpkin: Hate to say this but needs to be a bit more mindful. He is carrying the expectation of the club when really he just needs to focus on what he is doing in the moment. Hit the target, make the tackle, create the contest. Nothing else matters.
Tucker: Put's his body on the line, plays his role. Not the problem atm. Will make an error each week but everyone does. If everyone else tightens up his cog in the machine is essential.
Stephens: Just needs to trust himself a bit more. Takes so long to make decisions that the best options are covered and all he has left is bomb it long. It's never going to be perfect but he has great skills and just needs to kick it to advantage.
Fisher: was playing well before his injury. Needs to be replaced.
Logue: Needs a rest, if he stays he needs to defend aggressively. ATM he is sitting in no-man's land covering no-one. I'd swap him for K.Dawson.
Larkey: Lead FFS. You are not a contested mark so lead and lead hard and lead often.
Powell: Some defensive running would be nice. Little tighter on your opponent please.
Paul Curtis: Love everything you are doing except the stupid free kicks. No need, put the energy into the next contest.
Parker: Serviceable. He is not the problem but clearly he is not being listened to. Can't believe he can be part of a midfield that got beaten so badly.
Darling: Would consider giving him a rest or bringing someone else to chop out Xerri. He cannot ruck all year. Need him battering the backs and giving opportunity to CZ and NL. Keep him forward.
Comben: He is one of the few backs who cause the opposition any grief.
Xerri: If he is hurt he needs a rest. If he is not hurt he needs to be hurting his opponent. Take a mark, crunch some bodies.
Konstanty: Give him a run through the midfield early to hurt some bodies. 5 minute burst to lay as many tackles as he can.
Zhurhaar: Didn't play well but didn't get much opportunity with our lack of entries. Needs to be moving and making space in the forward line. Loved his long-shot for goal.
The connection between the forward and the mids is a concern. Yes Darling and PC can create a contest but if Cam and Larks can run some leads at least give the mids some options so they can lower their eyes. They can open space behind them or they can get a set-shot. Duursma knows how to kick a snag, and take a grab. even in our beltings he manages to get a goal.
McKercher simply can’t be a continued selection.
Need someone who can hit a target inside fifty. Stephens takes too long. Simpkin and McKercher are missing targets.Interesting, but I suspect there’s more chance of me getting picked at half forward than Caleb Daniel
If he is going to be then make him the Sub..McKercher simply can’t be a continued selection.
So youre saying FOS goes to Rozzee as he's playing at Half back now? l cant see that happening if we want to stop Rozzee. Give the job to Simpkin..Given some thought to what I saw last week. If we don't change our personnel, here's what needs to happen.

Remember where you heard this first. I have it on good authority that we are primed for this game and will win. Cannot reveal my sources but just remember I told you. Back us in!
Well yes, you may well be the biggest bath water drinkers, but at the moment we are the rubber ducky! If you can get $4 or $5 to lead at HT it’s a solid bet. We are the biggest bath water drinkers and surely you guys respond with something.

I understand, I don't normally think this way either, but that's where we're at. Anything less will be a sign that we aren't serious. We've turned into a Government Department.I don’t normally support this sort of shit but whatever it takes to get corr out of the side…
McKercher simply can’t be a continued selection.
Simpkin is unaccountable. FOS will learn heaps from playing on Rozee and if he does manage to limit him we could sneak a win.So youre saying FOS goes to Rozzee as he's playing at Half back now? l cant see that happening if we want to stop Rozzee. Give the job to Simpkin..
Corr at his best has beaten some genuine forwards. Simpkin and LDU can both be damaging. Larks and Zhurhaar have shown what they can do in the past. Parker is no slouch. Xerri has had some monstrous games in the last 12 months. They certainly have done it before, the hope/faith is they can find that again.I get what you’re saying from a ‘this is what needs to happen’ point of view. I do agree.
But other than the juniors, are there any senior players you can see actually implementing those changes?
Do you have faith that they can turn it around in a week let a long 5 games - I guess?
Unfortunately, and sadly. I just don’t think any of those can.
Based on training today, my new guess for selection this week

If FOS goes to Rozzee all a can say is , " l'm glad l've got Rozzee in my Supercoach team" ..Simpkin is unaccountable. FOS will learn heaps from playing on Rozee and if he does manage to limit him we could sneak a win.
