There is a clear and obvious difference between Powell/Mckercher vs Logue/Corr.

The first 2 are young and while they aren’t playing at the level at the moment, you can be fairly confident they’ll figure it out long term. So, they may as well learn in the seniors for now. You can argue it either way, I wouldn’t hate them being dropped but I’m not losing sleep over them going the other way.

Logue and Corr are a clear example of why we don’t win games.

Look at Richmond on the weekend for example. Everyone points to that game and says “wow, they’ve gone past us in the rebuild already” - have a look at their best players on the night:
- Vlastuin (31), Hopper (28), Taranto (27), Lynch (32), Balta (25), Broad (32), Short (29)

They have some good kids, but to beat the Suns - Lalor (18) was ok and Campbell (20) was fantastic. That’s where their influence ends.

When we win games - it is almost entirely reliant on: LDU (25), Sheezel (20), Wardlaw (20), Paul Curtis (22), Larkey (26), Comben (23), Zurhaar (26), Xerri (26) all playing really good games.

This isn’t a dig against Richmond at all - it’s an illustration of how garbage our senior core is and why we still struggle to win games that we are in.

Logue, Corr, McDonald, Tucker in the back 6 vs Vlastuin, Broad, Short, Balta

Not rocket science.

And we could easily see the ball hitting the ground and Corr and Logue going full s**z and forgetting how to football. Oh wait, I’ve seen that nearly everytime they play…..

Clarko has seen our backline has been putrid and slow, so he changing it up. Going smaller and ‘hopefully’ more agile. If it works, we are onto something. If it doesn’t, we are in the same place we are now.

Finlayson has been playing back flank. And if he doesn’t go forward, I’d go as far as saying Larkey takes more pack marks than Jez.
I maintain that the backline isn't where our worst structural breakdowns happen, but the bolded sentence has no comeback, so play on, I guess

Decent outs/ins.

Ideal world is dropping an unaccountable mid and getting in an extra tall to ruck.

I would suggest the mid structures and CBA allotments will change a bit, even if the personnel don’t get dropped.

Yes, if you’re old you need to be providing composure and leadership or you need to be a class above the alternative.

finally logue is gone, bit harsh on corr but good statement
I think there is some harsh stuff being dished out to Griffin, yes he has played poorly, but he wasn't the only one, I may be on the side where many don't agree, but I have a very good opinion of him, I wanted him very badly when he was at Fremantle and we finally got him, he's a good player, came back way to early in my opinion and it has showed. When he gets match fit, he is going to be very important to our team, trust me. ;)

Ok changes - defence has been losing to many one on ones and we’ve been destroyed in our D50 on ground balls

Would be pitting Powell against butters - time he puts his nose over the ball. He’s been putting he’s hands in and already in reverse so he doesn’t get any body contact.

64-39 inside 50 loss last week.

Woeful in defence but just as bad up the ground. Powell, McKercher, Zurhaar and others very lucky. The first two might be young but there's nothing worse for guys missing out playing VFL when those stinking it up in the AFL team don't get dropped.

LOL, all week all criticism has been on how easily our midfield has allowed the ball to walk out of the forward of stoppages and centre clearances.

So we drop 2 key defenders.

And then bring in Dawson instead of Pink.

Boggles the mind.
Actually you know what, doesn’t matter, as I don’t really care anymore.

I am actually looking forward to see how Logue responds to being dropped.

His performance will pretty much tell us if he is a mercenary just here for the pay cheque or just a player out of form.

If he half arses it in the VFL then we already have one early list management decision locked in.

There's a VFL bye this week so we won't see how Corr/Logue/Pink/Dawson/Tomlinson all fit together until next week at the earliest...

K Dawson has been in good nick, deserves a chance. That's no disrespect to Pink, who's also been good, just different players. K Dawson is a replacement for Corr - if we're replacing Comben, it would be Toby

Half way through the game last week I was thinking ‘why do I watch North. I don’t enjoy watching. I hate everything we do. Even during the Melb last quarter all I was thinking was ‘don’t f*** this up’. Couldn’t enjoy it. No pleasure to be had’.

Now, now you two, if that were true, you wouldn't be here telling us it was true 😜
