But point was, despite all the top 5 picks we've had, we haven't drafted a superstar. And the response rightly is - there were no superstars (yet) from those drafts except Daicos and Darcy (both F/S) and possibly Tilthorpe who was drafted before our pick.At least top 10-15 in the comp.
That and he's a very similar height, build and moves very similarly to Thomas. They have similar long beautiful kicks and can both jump and mark. I haven't watched him alot but when he runs and kicks long he reminds me of Thomas, if Thomas had a Tank/Engine.

Hey? Sheezel, Curtis, Xerri... others are still young
And Thomas was great on the inside as well.
Harry is in his third season. McKercher is in his second and FOS is in his first. They've barely started their careers. Its going thru this stuff that builds resilience. Its doesn't kill it. If you can't hack it you never had that resilience to begin with. This is nature vs nurture.
I have no doubt we’ve drafted players with the nature side.
We’ve then nutured that by beating the absolute shit out of them for their careers.
How many games has Harry won? 10?
Everyone’s resilience is finite.
You put any of our top line players in a semi decent side and they’d have a platform to actually deliver on the nature side of things.
JHF, Callaghan, Cadman? What's a superstar, then? A top 5 player?
There's only been one superstar in recent drafts by that definition. And he was a father/son (Daicos). The other that is close was also a f/s (Darcy). And the next was picked before us (Thilthorpe).
If Xerri isn't good enough to be a superstar then those guys aren't, eitherJHF, Callaghan, Cadman?
To be fair, it feels like we got rooted every game.I mean a team only needs to do three things to beat us.
- spread hard
- maintain width
- get the ball to the outside as often and quickly as possible.
Both can kick goals too, similar athleticism and you can argue that Tarryn is the neater kick. That and he's a very similar height, build and moves very similarly to Thomas. I would have one of those 3 on the ball at all times. We have zero pressure at the clearance atmGiven our lack of intensity I’d have Konstanty, Payne and Wardlaw all starting this week.

Sheezel is awesome don't get me wrong but he's more on the crafty side rather than athletic
Tarryn was pretty hard too. In his first year he smashed by someone - a huge oppo ruckman and bounced straight back up laughing about it, then didn't take a backward step. Both can kick goals too, similar athleticism and you can argue that Tarryn is the neater kick.

Thomas, if Thomas had a Tank/Engine.
Well done. You're the only one that picked it.Oh... Very good sir, yep
Dunno what happened to make him a soft**** who gets his car nicked and runs to the coppers.
It’s probably the only move that can be done to initiate the necessary cultural shift to shake up the joint.100% +1 here with all those out's and in's taz, that's the sort of statement that absolutely needs to be made, but my confidence that it will be, is just slightly above absolute zero.
Who said that?but I was assured last week on this board that we are or have been too ruthless.
