McIntyre isn't in contention. Expect to see Gill, Sellar or even Maric for Bassett. Goodwin is still doubtful. Reilly and McLeod would seem certainties still.

ADELAIDE will resist the temptation to pull a wildcard from the pack by selecting Andrew McIntyre as a direct replacement for Nathan Bassett.
Extremely similar to Bassett - who has a broken ankle - McIntyre would have been the perfect fit in terms of minimising disruption to the Crows' structure.
At 190cm, the North Adelaide defender is the same height as Bassett and although unproven at AFL level, possesses the same poise under extreme pressure. "We upgraded him (from rookie list) for that very reason earlier in the year," Adelaide football operations John Reid said.
"His form was good and we felt he could play a role back there (in defence) but the week we upgraded him he did his ankle very badly."
As a result, McIntyre - who has played half a reserves game and a full league match since his return for the Roosters a fortnight ago - will have to wait for now.
"He wouldn't be ready to play (AFL) yet," Reid said.
"Before he's considered he would need a couple of runs under his belt. He'd have to have some form of course and if he can do that, he'll certainly come under consideration."
Reid said replacing the versatile Bassett won't be easy, adding the club would take a long-term view in addressing his absence.
"It will mean some thought as to how we do that," Reid said.
"And it's not just a matter of what we do for a week or so but the next couple of months. So that will get a fair bit of discussion."
Adelaide, which was forced to shift training indoors to ETSA Park to avoid the strong wind last night, was still left with more questions than answers in relation to selection. The man who would assist most in providing the Crows with key position options, Ian Perrie (hamstring) didn't front for training and is a doubtful starter for Saturday night's clash with Hawthorn.
"He's a very important part of our forward line," Crows defender Jason Torney noted.
"It would be great just to get him back just for that fact but also to give us some flexibility to move some guys if needed."
Brent Reilly (sore ankle) and Andrew McLeod (corked thigh) were also absentees from the skill-honing session but both are expected to play.
After missing the last two matches with a knee strain, midfield engineer Simon Goodwin will have to prove himself at tomorrow's AAMI Stadium session from 10am.

B: Johncock, Rutten, Stevens

C: Van Berlo, Thompson, Mattner
HF: Reilly, Bock, Knights
F: Ricciuto, Sellar, Welsh
R: Hudson, Shirley, Edwards

Only one of Goodwin/Burton will play IMO, in for Massie.

Sellar in for Bassett.

I would personally drop Doughty over Massie, but it'd never happen.

Simon Goodwin and Brett Burton have returned to Adelaide’s line-up for Saturday night’s crunch game against Hawthorn at AAMI Stadium.

Goodwin strained a knee early in the round 11 game against Geelong while Burton has not played since round eight and had been struggling before that after hurting a knee in the opening round.

Young ruckman Ivan Maric will play his first AFL game for the season. Maric, who had hip surgery in March, has found good form in the SANFL. He replaces Jonathon Griffin.

Nathan Bassett (ankle) will be missing for at least eight weeks while Martin Mattner was left out of the 22 and named as an emergency with Nick Gill and Richard Douglas.

Scott Thompson will play his 100th AFL game. He played 39 games for Melbourne before joining the Crows.

The team is:

B: Graham Johncock, Ben Rutten, Scott Stevens

HB: Andrew McLeod, Ken McGregor, Jason Torney

C: Kris Massie, Simon Goodwin, Nathan van Berlo
