Craig is an average match day coach at best and does not have the balls to drop any player with a big name. Until he comes to the realization that it is about the AFC and not getting another extention to his contract the Crows are stuffed.
He has kept all the old guys because he thinks the Crows are close but reality has bitten hard and they are not. Bring in some youth with SPEED. Tell Rendell to draft speed and not slow talls that other teams DONT rate.

You can't be serious. Second highest disposals for the crows yesterday with efficiency of disposals equal to or better than 16 other crows.

It might not be vintage Edwards but his game is still better than anything we have waiting in the wings, and better than most of all crows players.

You can't be serious. Second highest disposals for the crows yesterday with efficiency of disposals equal to or better than 16 other crows.

It might not be vintage Edwards but his game is still better than anything we have waiting in the wings, and better than most of all crows players.

Edward's trade mark has always been that he is clean and always has time and space, yesterday as per his first 3 rounds he fumbled, got caught numerous times and for a senior player made poor decisions and skill errors

My concern is that we need to create scope of opportunity for players like Jaensch and if we continue to persist with senior players and finish mid table than we have wasted a year

I dont argue that he wasn't alone, my point is when do you draw the line in the sand and start putting your faith in a new group that will be around and peaking over the next 5 years

I just believe that time is now and Doughty and Edward's need to make way for players like Jaensch and to enable players like Cook to get some games under his belt and build experience

laughable, the AFC.com is run by idiots who go by stats and nothing else. Johncock was better than Edwards, and Knights and McLeod. He was also named in the best in most newspapers around the country, unlike Edwards or Knights.

Edwards was shocking, he'd have had 35 touches if he didn't get dragged down before disposing of it constantly.

His efficiency was also below McLeod's, Reilly's, Schmidt's, Davis', Doughty's and Rutten's and equal to that of Johncock's and Maric's

I want Mckernan in. Hes not a pussy like the rest of the team bar maric and one of two others. He can stick a tackle and smash a player.
Get mckernan doing what walker was doing today and leave walker in the goalsquare with porps. Have mckernan, knights,burton (Get him away from the goals) and dougie drifting around the HF line with tippet and danger rotating in there aswell.

thats way too simplistic. So we drop say Walker, because he had less disposals than Edwards? or Cook? MacKay?

Edwards deserves to be dropped, he's played 4 below average games where he has been slow, ineffective and generally stale. He isn't alone, as Porps and Dogga are in the same boat. He may be safe due to the lack of options but dragging out stats on a day where 'all played shit' is what should go in the paper is hardly a pressing argument that he shouldn't be dropped.

Our side is like the Australian Test Cricket team, when is the last time a senior player has been dropped?

Craigy said last year prior to signing Edwards and co that he had discussions with them to determine how thy would react if they were dropped due to form slippage, no point having the conversation unless your prepared to act

I am a big fan of Knights however again he had little or no impact on the game and his looping "Tragenza" style short passes hurt us on 2-3 occassions

Honestly you read too much into stats, there are a lot of cheap possessions these days that influence stats however have no impact on the game

OUT: Tippett, Porplyzia/Petrenko, Doughty, Edwards

With Young/Stevens and Armstrong/Van Berlo I guess we could go either way on these selections but I'd prefer us to go with Young and Armstrong as they're fully fit, VB and Stevens to play SANFL.

Porplyzia is terribly out of form and Petrenko doesn't work hard enough, toss a coin here. Jaensch replaces one of these guys.

McKernan to replace Tippett and play as a 2nd ruckman. We need to play two dedicated ruckmen. The only team in the top eight that doesn't play two ruckmen is Fremantle, who have an absolute freak at their disposal. Enough said really...if we want to be competitive with the best teams we need two ruckmen.

Young to the backlines and Davis forward. We'll then have Rutten on Hall, Young on Hahn, Schmidt on Murphy. If Minson/Hudson push forward then Davis can drop back and we'll rotate Maric/Smack through the forward lines.

Edwards and Doughty are champions of the club and deserved time to find form...four weeks is more than enough.

I'm not one for this behind doors "soft stuff", manage all players equally, if he is dropped for form then he needs to cop it like anyone else and go back to his sanfl club and work his butt off and get back in the side

Edwards should be no different to a Walker, creating differences creates fractions in a footy club

Not all players are equal though mate; and with the state of our injury list, we can't afford wholesale changes.

I'd drop Doughty - to me, that sends a pretty clear message to everybody; and a couple of senior guys would be under the gun as a result.

I have bad news for all those calling for Henderson's selection... we can't.

We currently have 2 players on the LTI list - Martin and Otten. Martin has been replaced by Schmidt and Otten has been replaced by Jaensch. We can't promote Henderson next week unless we place another player on the LTI list - Moran & Hentschel would be the obvious candidates, but doing so means that the club is consigning them to the injury list for a minimum of 8 weeks.

Right now, the players available for selection next week are:

No way are Tippett or Porplyzia going to be dropped. Both are down and aren't giving us much but are capable of so much more. The ones to look at are the ones who are playing as well as they can and getting plenty of the ball but their output is still terrible.

He made it clear that Porplyzia won't be dropped despite doing absolutely nothing in three weeks of footy. Edwards is no longer up to the pace of the game, he's too slow by mind and has zero awareness. Been a champion, but his time is up.

What I'd do:

In: Jaensch, McKernan, VB
Out: Doughty, Douglas, Edwards

What will probably happen:

In: VB
Out: Petrenko

How many bad games to they have to play before this philosophy no longer applies though?

I'll give you Porpy...no pre-season and well below par but maybe isn't far off.

But Tippett is awfully out of form and doesn't look fit at all off the back of a better than average pre-season, I'd drop him just to wrap him in cotton wool for a week or two. We might be able to get away with keeping him in the team but we have to keep him out of the ruck and anchor him in the goal square. The last thing we need is another key forward racking up km's on the wing and across half back.
