OUT:
Macaffer - Can't kick! Missed 2 gettable shots
Nathan Brown - wasn't too bad but, we need Presti
Leon Davis - Enough is enough!
Cameron Wood - Didn't think he was that bad but, I think Josh would've been a better target up forward
Chris Dawes - Had trouble taking an overhead mark

IN:
Barham - Add a bit more speed and tackling pressure

Prestigiacomo - We need HIM!
Paul Medhurst - We need another small forward who actually does something
Josh Fraser - A better target up forward
John Anthony - You could really flip a coin between Dawes and JA for FF

Wow too drastic. Maccaffer, Dawes and Woods, while not setting the world on fire deserve to hold their spots

Out; Leon, Brown, O'bree
In: Medhurst, Prestigiacomo, Anthony/ Lockyer

That's what I'd like to see.

LMAO at the ******s calling for heads when the Pies are what 7 & 2 from 9.

hey, lets cull them all and start again, unbelievable that we were done by a team that has won 2 GF in 3 years.

I understand, lets start cutting guys and bringing in the Ruslings/Blairs/Rounds/Sinclairs/Buckleys because these are the guys who are going to win us games and premierships.

Love the call of Dawes having trouble taking an overhead mark........

I think we should drop Heater, turned the ball over a couple of times tonight.

Maybe drop Pendles, did nothing all night.

Trade Beams as he had the chance to really put some score board pressure on and only managed 4 goals, Not good enough.

OUT: O'Bree, MacAffer, Wood
IN: Medhurst, Anthony, Fraser.

Change Wood to Jolly, who seems to be struggling with a slight injury, and I'd be happy with that, mainly because the hard ground in Brisbane is not going to do anyone with any slight injury the world of good.

Leon to last 2 more weeks, if he doesn't improve, Dick comes in for him.

Well lets see...Locky had a couple mediocre games (they werent even bad imo) and got dropped. Davis has had how many bad games (?) but still manages to get a gig.

Presti has had NO bad games, was given a bit of a rest...but not reselected...I don't get that.

For me:

IN: Lockyer, Presti, Medhurst
OUT: Davis, Brown, Macaff

I'm a bit iffy about Woods as well, but would give him a couple more weeks. I dont think Malthouse played him well tonight.

At a minimum Presti HAS to come back in and Davis has to be dropped to make way for Medhurst.

Sorry, but, Wood is worth more to us by stringing 4+ games in a row.
No one bags Jonathan Brown about chest marks, and I dont think Dawes lacks courage.
Fraser is NOT any target, at all, unless Aker was writing about him.

IN: L Brown OUT: Dawes

IN: J Fraser OUT: Wood

IN: Presti OUT N Brown

I think when playing teams like Geelong we need players who can compete with their physical strength....reason why I suggest these players.

Though I believe Dawes and N Brown in the future can be great players for Collingwood, but I don't think they are ready yet....

I would leave Dawes in. Sending him to the VFL will hamper his Development and Give game to someone with no upside in Leroy

A big question mark is why Leon Davis is not playing in the midfield this year, i mean he got into the AA team last year by playing as a mid not a forward

Absolutely, I know we are light on "forward pockets" but people forget Leon was a brilliant midfielder for us last year. If he is down on confidence, and from reading Side by Side, he badly needs confidence, then get the ball into his hands and play him in the midfield. No point putting him forward pocket where opportunities are few and far between, and often under immense pressure trying to do freak show snaps. Play him on ball, let him get amongst the game. A valuable Leon would be a huge boost for our side at the moment.

The other thing is: O'Bree is clearly not up to it. Three players absolutely tore us apart tonight, Chapman, Kelly and Bartel. Now O'Bree was on Kelly, and let him murder us. His ability to read the play is terrible, his defensive efforts are getting worse (if that's possible) and he is not playing accountable footy.

About 3 times tonight in the first quarter Kelly was the next kick upfield and O'Bree failed to realise it, and although it did not damage us, it probably should have.

Despite what everyone is saying about how Macaffer held Chapman reasonably well, I think Chapman was the most damaging player on the field. Everytime the ball was there to be won, or Geelong needed something done, it was Chapman. I thought Macaffer's job was reasonably poor, and along with his kicking, is reason enough to be dropped.

I would say:

IN: Medhurst, Dick (if fit)
OUT: O'Bree, Macaffer

On another note, although Dawes was atrocious tonight, Anthony would have been absolutely murdered. I would have been surprised if he managed to get a stat tonight. I really rate the kid, but he needs an open, free flowing game with plenty of quick balls to allow for 1-on-1's or 0-on-1's and he would have got none. Scarlett would have outbodied him, and like with Lake, he would have been beaten both physically and mentally.

My changes aren't really reactive to the loss, I simply think we need to bring in certain players that are better than the ones in the team.

1. Wood goes out for Fraser. All the thing Fraser gets criticised for, Wood does them worse. He has NO intensity whatsoever, is never clean with his hands and has poor skills.

2. Macaffer goes out for Medhurst. This is not because Macaffer choked like Greg Norman, its because Medhurst is a better footballer, so when he is fit, he should replace Macaffer. Macaffer has been soid all year without doing anything particularly bad, or anything all that good. Those 2 set shots were a real worry though, for someone who has played as a permanent forward most of his life.

3. Brown goes out for Presti Same as above, Brown has not been poor, I think he's been ok. But I don't think Presti is finished just yet, and I'm much more comfortable with him playing on the likes of J.Brown. Presti is our premier full-back and assuming 100% fitness, should come back in.

4. Davis goes out for Dick I'm not as hard on Davis as others, but he is clearly not fit, hasn't played 1 minute in the midfield all year and his intensity was down last night. If Dick is matchfit and plays well in the 2nds, he should come in. Davis not to play 2's but to get whatever is wrong with his body right. If Dick isn't fit, bring in a youngster.

From what Ive seen of the two's Dick cant come in , he has only played 2 games only soso games ,he isnt matchfit enough to play seniors and travel to the gabba,on a hard track it will take him 4 weeks to recover.
Dosent help that this week the 2's have a bye.

Knee jerk cutting will have a drastic morale confidence on the team.
As I said before I think Davis has a groin problem, seen him twice rub his groin last night, they wont play him in Brisbane , Medhurst or Lockyer will come in

B: Toovey - Prestigiacomo - Maxwell
HB: Shaw - Reid - O'Brien
C: Thomas - Swan - Johnson
HF: Didak - Cloke - Beams
F: Wellingham - Dawes - Medhurst
FL: Jolly - Pendlebury - Ball
INT: Sidebottom - Davis - L. Brown - Fraser

OUT: Davis IN: Medhurst (if fit)/ Dick (if Meddie unavailable)
OUT: O'Bree IN: Lockyer
OUT: Wood IN: Fraser
OUT: MacAffer IN: Anthony
OUT: N.Brown IN: Prestigiacomo

Dawes is on notice because Leroy is playing very good footy in the twos.

People do not be fooled by Leroys good form in the twos, he is a gigantic potato at AFL level. All he does is get beaten in the ruck, misses shots at goal, lays one or two good bumps and has one or two good tackles. Add to this he will never improve and I don't think he is the answer to any problems we have.

L Brown was very good in the VFL, but he was playing against Frankston who may not have troubled the scorer in the first half. L Brown will always monster opponents of that calibre.

Look, with Dawes in the side now, we don't need to play Leeroy ever again.

I cannot put a line through our best 22 with the way we are "managing" players this year. I have no doubt that Fraser, Presti, Medhurst and Lockyer would have played against the Cats if the VFL didn't have a bye. Four good players got an extra weeks rest for their niggling injuries. In addition, it was the perfect opportunity to expose some youngsters to finals pressure. It will be very interesting to see if all four come in against Brisbane.
For me...Fraser for Wood, Presti for Brown, Medhurst for Davis, Lockyer for the standard "general soreness" out.
