No injuries sustained from the game against is a plus. :thumbsu:

Not sure how far Silvagni, Mzungu and Barlow are but im guessing they are all more likely to return around rnd 9 against Port.

With 2 weeks before the next game WAFL form might determine Anthony's inclusion.

In: Broughton, Anthony
Out: MJ, Crichton

I'd be giving Crowley a run in the 2s. Crichton just can't seem to translate his ball magnetism at WAFL level into anything anywhere near it at AFL level... If Broughton is ok, he would be an immediate in, obviously.

Out: Crichton, Crowley
In: Broughton, ??

Pretty obvious we had 3 passengers against the dogs. We know who they are. So take your pick of those 3 as to who comes out for Broughton.
Edit: We actually had 4. Forgot Roberton.

Dunno whether we'd drop another one. Maybe bring a small in for Johnson? Richmond aren't an overly tall side.

OUT: Johnson, Crichton, Crowley, Roberton

IN: Broughton, Anthony, Walters, Mellington or someone new.

Edit: probably too harsh on Roberton but you can't drop marks like that at crucial times... nearly cost us 4 points. I thought he had a poor game; havn't seen 3/4 of the replay yet though.

Silvagni is a month away...Mzungu 6 weeks, Barlow 6-8 weeks...Round 9? Err...no

In: Broughton
Out: Crichton

only change

Im a Palmer fan
But he is not a small forward im not sure if there trying to work on parts in his game or wanting him to push into midfield to create space in forwardline.
But whatever it is hes not getting enough of the ball.
An for Palmer to be damaging he needs 20+.
Whereas a Walters does the damage with 10.
Palmers pressure is greater than Walters though.

Out
MJ Crowley Palmer Crichton I know MJ wont be dropped but will keep saying it till he earns his spot or is actually dropped.

In
Sibo Walters Broughton Anthony

For some reason i doubt Sibo will get a chance, dont know what he has to do to earn a spot.
As for Anthony he has proved in VFL he can play back.
So with MJ out someone needs to go back so they can either put Mcphee back or Anthony. If Mcphee goes back Anthony takes his role up forward.

Roberton a passenger? Bebeplease!!

Alright he mightn't have been the most damaging player on the field but he played his role and provided link up across half-back we were desperately low on.

Also, you don't make 4 changes to a winning team. Harves knows this hence our minimal changes so far this year.

Palmers game was enough for another week.

Out: Crowley
In: Broughton

MJ will never be dropped.

Out: Crowley. He had 2 disposals the entire match and was completely half arsed the whole time. get him out!

Out: Crowley, Crichton

I just don't know what role Crowley has in our team anymore, too slow to tag, no longer effective as a forward.

In: Broughton, Walters

We need someone like Walters that has good disposal in our forward 50, really lacking in that area.

Crichton has to be an out no matter what, had no impact on the contest and we have enough defensive minded players to keep him out. It is not an indictment on him however. He probably needs to continue his good work in the WAFL for the year, become stronger, and then start to push out guys like Crowley

I keep wondering each week what the hell Crowley does to earn his spot. Half-arsed tagging jobs and routinely at the very bottom of the possession/tackle count, I just can't understand his seemingly automatic inclusion.

I sincerely hope if/when we have most of Barlow/Mzungu/Broughton/Suban/Hayden available that he at least gets dropped then.

Which is still a +45 differential to Crowley's output. Anyway, from what I saw, much of Murphy's SC score can be contributed to kicking balls out on the full when he had nobody near him. He still had 20 touches. They might not have been that effective, but if Crowley only had 2 possessions and 1 tackle, then it isn't much to write home about. Might as well get Crichton to do that.

Why is Roberton so maligned? He, like most of the team, dropped a few sitters, but he was the one setting up the play and taking risks by leaving his opponent so he could run the ball. Good on him.

Out - MJ, Crowley, Chrichton

In - Anthony, Broughton, Walters

MJ and Crowley are continually terrible, they do one or two good things a game which somehow seems to hold their spots. McPhee is another that just makes so many mistakes.

Broughton in for sure, and that would be Crichton.

If I was Harvey I would take the opportunity to say to MJ and Crowley that on current performances they are borderline selections, and that they have the bye as an opportunity to force their own selection via the training track or the wafl. They can choose which.

Then on the training track I would run some drills which match-up MJ on Anthony, and Pearce on Crowley. And if they choose not to play wafl I would make them attend the wafl games Anthony and Pearce are scheduled for.

Crowley out. FFS.

Crowley 2 poss with 0% eff.
Murphy 20 poss! and was very instumental in the Bullies last quarter fightback - ran off Crowls time and again and left him 50 - 100m behind.

Out: Crichton, Crowley

In: Broughton, Pearce

The fact I'm suggesting Pearce is quite the endorsement if I do say so myself, because I've been criticised by some on here (and not just those who disagree with me for the sake of it) for being too negative on him. But, I also believe in rewarding WAFL form and it has gotten to a point where you can't ignore Clancee anymore.

Although he is a little on the short side, I would play Pearce around the CHF spot. He works hard and is averaging 12 marks a game, and although his disposal isn't the greatest, neither is Crowley's. Would also allow Bradley and Mayne to stay deeper, while still having some sort of a target at half forward.

Agree about Pearce, but his game did drop off last year. Poor kicking, poor decision-making, looked slower like he was carrying to much bulk, was getting caught with the ball too often. Good to see him working his way back into some kind of form this year. Seems like th ideal sub to me. Can play back, forward or have a run on the ball. Plus he can run all day. Agree he would be better value than Crowley, especially now he is missing set shots at goal (he never used to miss).

I would like to see Mayne pushed up the ground when he is being closed out of the game. seems a waste to just leave him vegetating in the forward line when he is not getting a touch. could add to our rotations. Especially now the JVB might be showing a bit up forward. He was fantastic last night.

You guys are all kidding yourselves if you think they'll be more than just the 1 change (Crichton-Broughton) for the Richmond game. We're 4-1...Harv's isn't going to make wholesale changes. Crowley...Johnson...Palmer etc will all stay. Not saying it's right....but it's just the way it is & I'm all for consistency in our side
