Something strange is going on with Palmer I'm sure. He's a semi decent player who you think would be required in the midfield considering all the injuries. Yet he's played in the forward line all match or is the sub. Has Harvey got some intense dislike for the guy? Or is he going to GWS and if so why are we not trying to push up his value?

Didn't see the Dons game, but sounds like they were ordinary. Definitely a must-win for our season. Just depends whether this loss fires up the players, or utterly demoralises them.

Even if Barlow were 100% fit I'd still like him to play another week at least in the WAFL. Just don't want to run any risks with him.

Hmmmm. Rings a bell. There's a bloke called "Jack" that we got as "compensation" who has been doing the hard work in the WAFL, got a chance playing in one of our worst performances and was promptly dropped when we could do with a forward.

Back in the young blokes. Crichton made one monumental blue but otherwise did some really good things. Plenty of experienced players made monumental blues too, namely Griff, Balla, Mayne, Ibbo and even Pav!

That being the case I don't think Harvs' plan is going to work so well come the end of the season. It would be fine if Palmer was coming on and having flashes of brilliance but instead he's looking out of his depth. I think we'd be lucky to get a third rounder at the moment.

I think that has nothing to do with form, more a case of the players value to the club he is leaving. Palmer playing and not doing anything still means he is in our best 22, and as a Rising Star winner his value will be set regardless of currently form.

Yeah, didn't really think about that. But how much will improper utilization and a knee reconstruction bring his value down I wonder? Guess we won't know until the AFL tells us what he's worth. Hopefully you're right though and we get something reasonable based on his past accolades.

Still, I agree, it is a pretty dumb move considering our staggering injury list.

My information (friend of a Docker staffer, over the fence at away games etc) is that there are two players in the team who often fail to follow instructions on and off the field. Both have "entitlement" chips. Those players are Palmer and Walters.

People shouldn't jump to GWS conclusions, but I think it's safe to say that to get games you have to do what the coaches/fitness-staff say both on and off field. Running around chewing people out that your form doesn't matter because you're naturally talented doesn't work either.

Agreed, he wouldn't even have the fitness to run out a game. Of course, I don't think anyone really expects him to be named. Not when Schammer is ready to go.
