you would really want it not to already be torn at all and just be a strain. wouldnt want it to end up like diego costa in GS final. out in 8 mins and man down

You know if Greenwood doesn't come up I'd Almost roll the dice with Thommo. I'd love to hear 'NUMBER 5 SCOTT THOMPSON' called out at 5pm Saturday.... it's like a 1% chance of happening.

Pretty sure 1% is a bit generous, they gave him his lap of honour already, it would be swapped with someone else almost certainly..

Really hoping that Greenwood is just being nursed through last week and is good to go.

I'd go with Hampton personally. If Milera could defend I'd go that way, but he's proven that he needs to add that to his game as it doesn't come naturally. Hampton has that in his DNA.

I'm watching the Crows v Richmond game from earlier this year and Greenwood didn't play. Milera and Hampton were there but up until half way through the third quarter, have had minimal impact.
Other observations....
  • Tigers started like a house on fire. Rioli,Cotchin,Martin up and about.
  • This was Brouchs second game.;) He is a puppy compared to the beast he is now.
  • Walker got off the chain. He will revel doing it again at the G
  • Talia (you may recall) went off the week before with hamstring sorenesso_O..played well:D
  • The Desk was flattened twice by Nankervis...just made him play better.:thumbsu:
  • JJs first game back from cracked rib....hasn't done much.

I hope he saw Walls' comments that he was a selfish footballer who only got Joe the Goose goals. Should fire him up. Wallsy still salty about us costing him his job.

If Walls is condemning him then JJ is doing something right. I love the outrage about 'Joe the Goose' goals, but how does he keep getting in the position to score? If he's only getting cheap possessions, why can't they stop him?

Perplexing really. The dude is an athletic animal and probably the best power runner of his size in the comp. Easy goals though.

Because he runs harder than his opponent every time. His athletic ability for a big fellow is fantastic. So much more useful than Tippett.

Using his big frame and speed he can easily out muscle and do them for pace (or should) their second best defender.

I agree the vast open spaces at the G he will be lethal as f**k, if he lifts and has a big game.

What these idiots fail to realise is that JJ is often involved in the play further up the field that then leads to the Joe the Goose. The fact he can out run much smaller opponents over 100 metres is a mystery to the commentators.

+1

Definitely agree I would rather JJ over Tippett, all day every day........

Yep, in the footage on the other thread, there were a few occasions he did some gut running to score, who cares if he is the one that finishes it in the square, he works damn hard to get there..

Reckon he played injured. Was rumours before the game he might be a late out and only 59 minutes of game time seem to confirm he was being heavily managed in-game. Hope he pulls up alright
He might be a chance to miss...

Not to mention Power supporters who would rip JJ to pieces for those goals.

Morris and Markov played for Richmond that night, they'll be a better side.

But so we will.

His last game at the G he was useless.

Exactly...and the other part is that these goals are included in the stats and score line.
How dare those wascally wabbit statisticians!

I think many people over estimate the 'G' as a factor. It's size should suit us and especially suits a player like JJ as he can lead deep, wide or long.
Bit harsh to judge his output at the G on one example. Bottom line is that all he needs to be is one of many options for goal. And in relation to being greedy as Walls claims, he is only 0.5 goal assists per game behind Tex, who is the number one in the league.

No changes required. If McGovern is 100% then he plays for Otten - who was very solid and has been the perfect back up player this year. If Greenwood is not deemed fit to contribute, Hampton should be the player to come in.

It would be great to see Otten become a premiership player.

I would bet Milera can't tackle lots yet due to his fitness, it's actually quite tough to lay a heap of tackles and he's only had a couple preseasons and is still very young. Not saying he'll ever be a tackling pro but his body size would dictate that it's harder for him. Of course that's never an excuse when you simply have to go and there has been occasions where this is the case but I doubt it's all as clear cut as just he doesn't want to. I guess we'll find out more on this as he matures, you would expect next year to see him a bit more physical though given it'll be his third year. I think Lever is another good example, hasn't become a great 1 on 1 defender yet because he lacks the physical size but I've got no doubt he'll improve in that area over the next 2-3 years whoever he's playing for. May not ever be his strength but improvement will come. People here just expect to see these young kids dishing out complete performances because of the glimpses they show when in reality it doesn't happen like that for the overwhelming majority of players. It's the same reason most grand final sides have a certain age and experience profile from a blend of older guys through to some young emerging stars.
