On Jenkins Sanders is 100% correct.
Surprised Jenkins doesn't cop more criticism. Been very annoyed with him at times in both finals.

There were a couple of times vs geelong where he was double teamed. Hard to win those contests- fair enough. But he just doesn't hold his ground and make the contest. His body disappears in between the two defenders, and he's reduced to a feeble one arm attempt. Easy turnover to geelong.

Tex won't win many of those in the air, but his body work gives him the chance to compete, draw a free, suck two players in to the contest, or bring the ball to ground.

That's what you need from a 200cm key forward.

Tex is on the big bucks and captain I actually expect more from him

Although with the three talls we dont need a stand out performance by one it can be divided up but I expect Tex is the dominant one

Any chance you could go smaller against Richmond? Otten was ok against Geelong but Tigers are a completely different proposition in terms of size and speed.
Who would come in as a small if required?

By the way McGovern is obviously a loss but much better to find out now than 10 minutes into the first qtr.

Richmond fans are loving the McGovern news. They want to face an Adelaide side riddled with as many injuries as possible to go along with a soft draw, no injuries, gifted home finals and MRP corruption. Gotta love the Richmond "hand it to us on a platter" attitude.
They should ask Geelong how that worked out for them

Jenkins is not a great footballer, can we all agree with that?

Yes he plays an important role, yes he runs hard (forward) and gets on the end of those goals, but no way is he as good as some appear to be pushing.

Sanders is spot on. 62 goals and the coaches pretty much ignore them all ... Say no more.

On another note, how far have we come under Pyke? In the bad old days we would take injured players into important games and suffer from it. Not this squad, ruled out as soon as Gov showed he wasn't able to go 100%. Love the confidence.

If it rains, Otten will be even more valuable.

Get the job done boys.

that has nothing to do with "deserving" a flag though.

you pick him because he's the best choice, not because he's a nice guy who's recovered from two knee recos.

I agree he's well and truly in the box seat.
Didn't mean it like that otherwise I would say thommo should have a game too

With all due respect re going smaller, if I was Richmond I would be a little concerned with out tall forwards.
Very good point.

A huge amount relies upon the mids delivery. I'm confident the forwards will create options, we must then deliver precisely, even under grand final pressure. Our mids play well collectively and we win the GF. If they don't it's going to be low scoring dogfight.

Hamptons pressure against a team that applies an enormous amount

Personally if Greenwood is out I would go Hampton, Greenwoods weapon is his pressure we need a replacement. If Greenwood is unfit and has the potential to play like last week then he is out no question

As long as its not Jono Beach im not fussed lol.

The stars are aligning;)
The lead up to this game reminds me so much of the 97 Grand Final.
Its all about Richmond, Cotchin getting off, Canary Jumper clash and stoopid KB:D, Dustys Medal, Dimmas Coach Award, MCG, Tiger Army, Tiger Drought ...Im loving it. They are being setup for the saltiest fall in VFL history.

Couldn't me more wrong. Personally I'm happier than Larry that the Tiges are in a GF. I can't see us getting within 7 goals of you guys on Saturday but that won't ruin my day as I'm not expecting to win. Last week I celebrated like a GF. This week just gonna enjoy the experience. We've already far exceeded expectations this year. Adelaide have been clearly the best team this season and the flag is yours to lose.

Its going to be raining in the lead up and probably raining on the day. Otten is a pretty good option in the wet so I am quite comfortable that we can cover the loss. If it does rain then hopefully the game plays out like the Port game.

.. Any legs to the rumour that Rory Sloane has done a hamstring at training? :/

(Not trying to stir the pot - I don't know who I want to win this weekend!)
Only if he tripped in the showers. He looked magnificent this morning.

Mitch McGovern, not so much.

The biggest problem for the Tigers is that they haven't confronted THE MIGHTY THOR BEFORE!!!!!
