I know he's not physically there yet, but is it worth bringing in Crocker for a lockdown role?

Saw Polec not go a couple of times today when it was his go

Go to his thread and you'll see me defending him.

But yesterday, I agree. There was one contest at Essendon's CHF line where he flat out opted out of standing in the hole and taking the contact.

I've never seen him do that up until yesterday. But he was also far from alone yesterday.

9 months ago I would have told you he is zero chance of playing AFL in 2019. But with EVW, McDonald, Jacobs injured, Wright and Jmac not at their best (for whatever reason) and the season effectively over, I say yes, play him. His VFL season has been incredible given where he was last year.

If the last few weeks has taught us anything it’s that we are capable of beating anybody on our day. Plus, we have been delivering consistently on a week to week basis since the Swans game. This season is not shot yet. We need the best available team on the park against the Lions and give it our best shot. Brisbane will, most likely, be backing themselves in. The upside for us is that, most likely, they won’t be trying to shut us down. Right now, our weakness is exposed when Ben is tagged. That’s Scamper’s priority challenge right now. Guaranteed, Geelong and West Coast will not tag Cunnington, so we will be up to our necks in those games. To take our next step, we need to be able to handle being hunted. GWS & Essendon have proven that.

The return of Higgins would help Scamper no end...

Out: Hrovat, Ahern, McDonald, Taylor
In: Hosie, LDU, Durdin, Wood

There were 2-3 times when Hrovat blew our momentum due to being simply too small and slow for AFL footy. Had more of the ball than some but I reckon his total influence on the game was negative for us despite trying his heart out- isn't up to it unfortunately.

The other changes are pretty self explanatory, Durds to repeat his efforts on Cox by keeping McInerney quiet, LDU is coming off 30 and 7 tackles, and Hosie just keep hitting the scoreboard.

Statement right there rookie. Like it.

Same

Standing waiting for the ball to come out when he had to charge in and get it is one I remember in the second half
Yeah must admit I yelled at the telly when that happened too. I thought he had been ok but hubby thinks he has definitely dropped off in the last few weeks and I agree especially for the money he is on

Seasons shot mate, the bris/haw/syd put us on the back foot and yesterday finished us off. We couldn’t slip up and we did, which sucks but was going to be a tall order. We do however need to get a sustained look at Durdin/McKay

Why not.

He couldn’t be worse than McMillan as a defender

It’s not like we would lose anything in the physicality stakes.

Time to give a few a taste, rather than going back to players who continually let us down.

Someone else mentioned this earlier put Ahern to the backline. We are screaming for players who can create some play and now should be the time.
Unfortunately cannot see wright in the mix and even though he does some good McMillan just makes too many errors- missed tackles, bombing it out of the backline without looking and too easily moved off the ball.

I predict some angst on Thursday.

With the forced change of McDonal, I'm guessing McMillan will keep his spot.

Similarly if Turner misses, Hrovat may well keep his spot.

I'm guessing Taylor and Ahern are in the gun.

I don’t understand the need for angst at all. Our team is playing well, everyone is putting in. The time for angst is during the game itself, surely. What are we, neurotics?

Would get burnt on the lead more often than not. If he is playing a slightly more unaccountable HB role, then why not.

Taylor's poor game serves as a warning for playing the kids for the sake of playing the kids.

We need to evaluate Hosie as a decision is looming. He would be my number 1 in regardless of structure. I think that means Hrovat or Turner our as Wood also has to come back in.

Higgo back for Ahern is a no brainer.

We don’t have a good midfield option in the VFL to fill our pace gap so wouldn’t make a change there.

You have to be joking? There is zero chance that is a suspension.
i know cunners is walking a fine line, but if and its a big if, cunners gets suspended for swinging his arm and hitting the ball, then I expect every player from next week to get fined for handballing the ball with a closed fist or punching the ball in a marking contest.

a suspension for cunners would go beyond stupidity. hang on I forgot about the morons that are in charge of the game. yep cunners gets 2 weeks.

In: Xerri, Crocker, Davies-Uniake, Wood, McKay, Durdin, Hosie.

No Wright or anyone else that won't play next year.

And if we'd hung on to win? Sheesh.

Turner, Dumont, Macmillan and Hrovat out. Best available in.

Season over mate, it's tank time and we shouldn't win another game.

Yes, been a pretty pathetic display from the posting community after a string of good performances from the players

Exactly why we dropped Durds and LDU is a mystery in light of minimal changes prior to that And Taylor did not look remotely like AFL ready so big black mark on Shaw for that...

As the eternal optimist.... we have beat Pies and Tiggers OK
If you look at the run home for all the contenders most of them, including us can win or lose all 6
So play our best team next week then faff around after that

Keen to have another look at Campbell too
