Which matters not at all. His physical attributes do not allow him to be a useful AFL player. They will not improve.
Simple and accurate.
This selection decisions is so short term - it might help us on Saturday; but it'll hurt us for 2020.

It’s the same old ****ing idiots melting.
They can’t be ****ed watching the SANFL, half the time they can’t be ****ed watching the AFL but they spend hours every week bitching and wingeing.
THE FACTS
1) Wilson and Otten have been our best players in the Twos this year by a country mile.
2) When was the last time that Andy Otten let us down playing as a defender over the last three seasons (as a second ruck/forward on the other hand...)
3) After losing Doedee for the season, Andy Otten is the only medium/tall defender who will not be smashed in the
AFL. I was pumping up BIG BUTTS before any of the ****wits screaming for his selection had even heard of him but has a single poster who WATCHES our Twos suggested he is ready to play?
4) I also jumped on board the Sholl and Hamill Train at the under 23 trial but they would be killed in the AFL, be patient. McPherson on the other hand could step up but pinged his hammy (again). Everyone wants to play Smith and Milera in the midfield but the only medium/small defender who could replace Mackay is Sam Tharaldsen.
So..... let’s move players around so we can feel better about the fact that Mackay is no longer in our team (Murphy to defence or the Seed or Fog, possibly Himmelberg).
5) McHenry is injured, Poholke is returning from injury, Jones needs a rest, Gallucci hasn’t been demanding a game, Fog hasn’t fired a shot all year, the only Kid who you could argue has been hard done by is Davis.
6) Jacobs, Douglas, Gibbs and Betts all in the Twos. Rather than complaining that we haven’t brought enough Kids into the team we should be complaining that we are stacking the Twos to stick it up the Bays.

Nah, I still think that was the development for him to fill either Hartigan or Kelly's role and then when Doedee did his ACL, we thought it would be him (but clearly we now know he can't play in defence) and Keath took that role.

It's not even good in the short term.
If the club's going to sell out to try to win a solitary final, then they'd have a better chance if by some miracle they could get Fog up and running and confident in the event he's needed than by playing a guy who's plainly too slow to add to one of the slowest teams in history.
It's bad in every respect.
He does read the play very well, so he doesn't need to be quick in defence I guess but it was a safe choice picking him instead of a 1 gamer.

Remember when jack used to call Don the maestro and would pre-emptively declare the premierships we'd already won?
Honestly see very little positives to come out of dropping Betts now, the time he should’ve been dropped/rested was the Gold Coast game after the crap he served up the previous 2 weeks not flown all the way up there as a 32 year old then played against Essendon off a 6 day break. Plus there’s literally no point at all playing him in the SANFL, none, it will achieve nothing, he’ll just be selected again next week anyway.

They more than likely are.
You would be nuts to bring in a 1st gamer 18 year old in a game we have to win when Ottens has good form, the only issue I see is it's at a big ground but he will be playing that Doedee/Keath role (unless Carlton try to expose him 1-1 deep).

Yeah, if the other team doesnt move we'll be ok. There's no way that the running game that has been repeatedly been used to crush us will be used again I reckon.
10 goal win eh? Nah no chance.
The Betts / stengle combo would have been good to see again.
