Will have to consider trying to nullify Adelaide's Talls, and they are solid types, plus who gets Betts?
Whatever we are trying to do with the backline so far isnt working, and the back chemistry is lacking.
That and we dont spread, run hard enough forward to take the game on from the backhalf.
We need to pick either Sherro, or Sutcliffe to take the game on, and leave the man on man stuff to the
true defenders.
Having Silvagni, Collins, maybe Hughes in the team gives us the option of using one Ruckman,
with others pinch hitting.

Playing with Clarke and Tabs is like having 2 players down.

I rather have 1 ruck men than those two.
Rather Tabs develop and improve, he actually looks like he wants to be there and prove himself. Clarke on the other hand is just done. Nothing like he was in 2013 and that stupid knee injury at a festival pretty much set his career off.

None of Mzungu, De Boer, Suban or C. Pearce should ever come back in particularly at 0-5.
Taberner did have brain fades, but he was one of the best when the game was there to be won. The pressure on him is insane, and it shows at times. Rather him play a few weeks, keep progressing and show what he can do with the same security that Mayne somehow gets. Mayne/Ballas/Clarke simply non-existent, pathetic. 2-3 of them should be dropped tbh, rather just go Griff alone but obviously risky.
Ballas and Mayne have hit their ceiling (pretty much hit the peak in 2013). So they shouldn't be safe for the next few weeks at least.

Ins:
Ibbo
Langdon
Blakely

Outs:
Fyfe
MJ (if injured)/D. Pearce
Clarke

Ballas is injured.

Fyfe out for an extended period as well spells disaster.

Out - Fyfe, Ballas, D. Pearce

In - De Boer, Langdon, Blakely

Play the kids, see who will make it and who won't. Make sure we use our high draft picks on the best Key Position , W.A born talent available.

Get ready for horror flashbacks!

Sorry, apparently Johnno is injured. Of course he is.

Out - D.Pearce, Johnno, Fyfe, Ballas

In - De Boer, Blakely, Langdon, Collins

Continue to play the youth and see who is up for it in the long run.

Out: Griffin, Fyfe (injury), Johnson (injury), Ballantyne (injury)

In: Langdon, Mundy, Ibbotson, Collins.

The one thing Clarke has going for him is athleticism so let's see him ruck the game out. I think it is immaterial at this point whether we have Clarke or Griffin having zero impact on the game. At least Clarke is (apparently) mobile and young enough to be around for our next push. Bringing Langdon in for a ruckman may be useful against Adelaide's potent rebounding defenders and outside midfielders as well as increasing our overall athleticism and skill.

Mundy in for Fyfe: self explanatory.

Ibbotson in for Johnson: Need the experience imo. Hughes a tempting proposition.

Collins in for Ballantyne: Collins could prove useful against Adelaide considering their tall forwards. Alternatively he is touted as a swing man and we are all but devoid of any non-injured forward line players outside of the currently playing 22. Go in taller and see what he's got.

For all the doom and gloom of the Carlton loss I see some hope... Out ballas, fyfe. In Mundy, clancee/mzungu. Pav has to play this will be his last chance to be in SA. I bought my ticket. I was honoured in 2007 in round 22 I saw Troy cooks last AFL game that was his 150th for freo and his 193rd overall including his 43 games with the swans

Assuming Fyfe, johnno, balla all injured and maybe sonny rubbed out by MRP

Collins for johnno
Blakely for Fyfe
Langdon for balla
Hughes for sonny

Silvagni for johnno
Mundy for fyfe
Deboer for grey
Suban for Tucker
C.Pearce for Weller
Ibbo for croz

We lack chemistry to play Adelaide( hot form)
Save the kids for gws in subi , let them practice playing together vs Perth in wafl this week. With some playing reserve.

Ross should take some blame for putting foot soldiers to play all Nab series. As for Hale ,rock and Guerra I still think they are the best coaches for long term , decision making on field you can't teach , and over depend on pav,Sandi,Johnson, fyfe, hills ,Walters begin to shows our weakness.

Would like to see Clarke as sole ruckman wth AP pinch-hitting. Bugger it. Griffin is already old, may aswell see what Zac can do when given the responsibility. Sink or swim time.

Balla has been struggling for awhile. I think he needs a spell in the twos. I dont think his playstyle works with less rotations

I honestly think he's just about done, was awful last season and has been no better in the early par of this year.

Can u believe that Zac is 26 now? I Reckon he has the knees of 36 too.

He looks absolutely mentally and physically spent and it's only round 5. Really bizzare.
RTB should just give him license to return to his niggling best, at least to try and spark SOMETHING.

Back to hoping for a goal a quarter and cheering the small things while getting absolutely reemed.

Brings back some memories. I'll say good memories because it was a while ago and it doesn't seem so bad now, but, it wasn't the best sitting in the rain watcing the team lose by 60+ and a jaggy goal here and there or a nice mark being the highlight of the game.

Oh well. Enjoy the good times, suffer through the bad ones and make the best of it.

Out: Optimism
In: Sense of dread.

Will Grey and Tucker play the rest of the season to develop now that all seems lost ?? Grey, while a relatively low draft pick, seems to have a real appetite for the contest, and 10 tackles yesterday, holy hell they are crazy numbers.

This kid is really appetite for the ball, too bad he injured himself last season in WAFL. Will need a year to grow with his decision making and kicking skill.

They definitely should.

I've been telling my Mrs for 2 years that Grey should be in the side and I definitely think he's worth persisting with over others. Has some deficiencies but also some quality attributes. Hopefully improves.

Tucker had a good first outing and should stay in too see how much he improves. Worth getting games into him over someone like Mzungu.

Ibbo, De Boer, Mundy, Tendai and Silvagni will be right in the mix. A lot on here won't be happy about the older boys being recalled but throwing to many kids in to be crushed won't help the kids or the team.

Absolutely agree!
Weller, Grey, Langdon and Tucker all should play. If these are our future, then the only way to develop them is to keep playing them. Add Blakely to the list too.
I know Tabs cops heaps, but lets not forget that he has only played 30 odd games. He is still learning. Sure he will make errors, but will get better for the experience. Looking at him yesterday, he found space, he held marks. I have said it before: he actually looks more comfortable further up the ground than he does near the goals...He is quite fast, tackles well. When he was drafted, he was known for his running capacity. Needs work on his disposal and decision making, but I think it will come with more games.
Either try him at CHF with free rein to run up the ground, or start him on a wing :)
We cant rebuild unless we invest games into our future players.
