No journos asked about Lobb today.

Unless he is a surprise in though I think we might just roll with Smith and tank the second ruck.

Bevo admitted Emmett isn’t ready to ruck yet

Even though his VFL / match sim form hasn't been great, I think it has to be Croft for this week and potentially next if Tim misses two. Just a better player and bigger tank + more seasoned body than Emmett at this point, and can give us more in the forward line also.

In - Croft, Davidson
Out - English, Gallagher

Called into training today and if I was a punting man I would put my money on Lobb being in for Tim. Noticed Coffield went off with a niggle but came back out, can’t say he was moving that freely. JOD doesn’t look that far away either. The player that caught my eye was flea. He was sharp and moving freely. Easy to forget how athletic he is.
Lobb in to ruck would be huge

Has Davidson fixed his deficiencies during his week off?

Nope but I don't think Gags has either. Davidson is obviously flawed, but I think his defensive running even before he was dropped was pretty good. Was often getting all the way back to the goal line to help spoil balls through or ensure his winger did not get into scoring position on him, and his fitness allowed him to have a few decent 4th quarters over the start of the year. Down on form and confidence too compared to last year, but IMO he is probably better than the other available options, considering Jaques has some things to work on at VFL level also and was quiet in his game there.

If Lobb is ready the only change would be English for Lobb

Gallagher didn’t perform great last week but won us game, besides same could be said about McNeil and Haynes however possible replacements Dolan and Davidson haven’t done any better

Article on the afl website says noone is coming back this week... lobb and JOD next week, English to be assessed.

I can't imagine he is playing VFL. He just mustn't be fully fit because he is a walkup start at the moment
Reported that he fully trained today and was moving well etc. Unlike Lobb who did most but not all the session.

History has shown that we will back Gallagher in but really don't see any justification for it. Was an awful performance

Thought he was solid against Hawthorn. Thought he did some good things but just needed to find the ball more. Can't say many nice things about the previous two games

There's a difference between training fully and playing a full game. They mustn't think he is right to get through the full game

If he is playing VFL then yeah its very, very strange but don't think its that strange that a hamstring ended up taking four weeks to recover

Strange that O'Donnell fully trained and appears fully fit but we're not selecting him
Why is he fully fit? Because someone who watched training said he is?

He was listed as 1-2 weeks on the injury report. Soft tissue injuries generally require at least a week of full intensity training.

JOD didn’t fully train, he sat out quite a bit but he was moving well I thought. I don’t think he plays this week, probably next.

I’d think Lobb plays, ideally he’d probably sit another week and you shouldn’t really risk players but let’s be honest here our season is sitting on a knife’s edge right now. Everyone else playing underdone, what’s one more?

I think it is more important to get Lobb up for the Dees game.

If the hammy is right and fully healed, most important thing would be getting some match time and touch back before facing the Dees. If he can go against Carlton and play say 60% match time with a bit of a run in the ruck against McKay and rest up forward, then an 8 day break before Melbourne, that would be more than ideal.

The are various levels of fitness. One is the ability to run out a game. The other is to be able to also engage in contact drills. We are being cautious.

He didn't train fully, he sat out the match sim and when players were split into 2 and then 3 teams.
Fair enough. Incorrect reporting strikes again.
