Would like it to be Thommo for Greenwood.

Just hope the club sees it that way as that is the only change I see this week as Thommo is done.

Not sure how else they work Greenwood in.

Surely that's it and you give Lynch another week and a home game.

I'm not really defending for Thommo's inclusion. Just stating the fact he's playing pretty well, and the rest of SANFL team are playing below Thommo's standards.
Ok here's my take on the situation:
In Finals games with Finals pressure, the AFL senior side need to have an improved mental edge both in physicality and mentality. Whether we approve of Thommo being in the side or not, leg speed or not, his worth is providing the physicality to the AFL team. Not saying he's in the best 22, but if there were to be injuries in the Seniors, then trialling an under 10-gamer would be more of a risk than a player (Thommo) who has proven to be able to match it with physicality.
Another take is this, we need to look at it as a whole team management for the rest of this season. We can't just be one-eyed at all the "potentials", and not have a look at the players who have Finals experience and that hardness factor. If speed alone is all you need, then how is Sam Mitchell and Jordan Lewis still able to make impacts in games? Hard edge physicality is also a key ingredient. So therefore, we need to have a few games for the "potentials" and see what stuff they're up of, and also a few games into the Hard-nuts who have proven to play consistently hard.
Disclaimer: not here to talk all positive re- Thommo, but give some other angles on how I see it.

Having to move on from a long established stalwart player is hard and heaps of followers just feel better by having Thommo around. Kinda like an old well known comfortable pair of shoes that imbue a sense of all is well.
And for some seasons now the 'having Thommo around' seems to be all that is required from the blunt end thinking of many supporters (just speaking generally). A Crows folk lore aura has grown around Thommos physique and presence on the field which is somewhat inconsistent with his actual performance. It is difficult to assess what Thommo brings to the midfield in terms of his physicality. Does his mass and hard edge presence actually provide greater opportunity for our other mids? I don't see this and suspect a lot of non quantifiable hope is part of his team inclusion. But time marches on and after last week the actual reverse of any 'Thommo benefits' may well be part of the thinking of his team mates.

He's the captain of the club. If not supporting a teammate, what else is he going to say?

"Wasn't up to his usual standard, but we expect him to bounce back hard". No need to fabricate experience as being a factor. Seeing as he would bring experience every week, do you think he should hold his spot if he continues to get it 10 times and give 5 away in frees?

Why? It's not as if any of our indigenous players come from the NT, or even have ties to the NT. We don't have any Riolis, or Tipingwutis on our list. Darwin is no more significant for our indigenous players than playing in Perth or Brisbane.
Indeginous are often nomadic they would have some affinity with Darwin along with a lot of cousins who want to go to the game

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear...

Just because they're indigenous does not mean that they have any affinity at all with Darwin. Hampton comes from the NT, but won't be playing due to injury. Other than that, none of our indigenous players have any ties with Darwin, or the NT, and no "cousins" who would be attending the game there (unless they happen to be flying in from SA, WA, or QLD).

I keep thinking that there will be another surprise selection this week. If we wanted to give THE MIGHTY THOR a week off, surely it would be the match in Darwin? I suspect that the original plan was to give TMT two weeks off and Thommo two weeks to see what he has to offer. Thommo was so bad that we should get TMT to play the next two matches and possibly rest him against Collingwood. The other possibility is to give another midfielder a game this week (Wigg? Gallucci? Poholke?).

I also think it is essential to play THE SEED this week. He needs to get some AFL games under his belt and we will probably bring back Lynchy next week. We could give Wayne or Charlie a rest but I did think that Bran Nue Mackae could use a break ;).

We have been playing two outside mids/wingmen most weeks (the last two weeks THE RAT and BNM, before that Milera instead of BNM). We might go back to rotating three players through the wings. The defence (until Hartigan recovers) seems pretty settled. If we are to change our forward set up it would most likely be to rest Wayne or Charlie.

If we are resting let it be Sloane by a last minute Ute sure from the emergency that will stuff Melbournes planning!

Oh god no. Thommo's game was as bad a game as any Crow has had since god knows when. I would be absolutely gobsmacked if he were picked again this week, or ever. But if he is, I can only hope he is somehow able to turn back the clock at least one more time... I was simply arguing that Tex saying what he did was to be expected and can't really be claimed as being indicative of a poor culture at the club. He stuck up for a teammate. That's it.

"The temperature in Darwin is expected to be 24 degrees at 8pm on Saturday night, with humidity of 61 per cent."

Doubt Lynch plays given the events of the last couple of weeks

Big chance Crows lose the Geelong game based on selection...we need to think through our strategy for both games together.

In addition to Lynch I would select 2 fresh running players against Cats and select for Melbourne with that in mind.

Therefore, Mackay should play this week and be dropped next week.

And though I haven't seen anyone else point this out - apologies to those who may have - four of his ten disposals resulted in turnovers... that's a pretty staggering disposal to turnover ratio right there...

Worst game by a senior player since VB's R1 effort last year.

Worst game by an Adelaide player since McGovern's game against Geelong, at Pussy Park, last year. 2 disposals - one of which went out of bounds on the full.

Which is why I have said all along Thompson will play. Whether it be for Greenwood or someone else he will stay in the rotation

I have no hope of seeing Lynch before Collingwood.

Therefore, Mackay should play this week and be dropped next week.
I can see this happening ie Seeds comes in for Milera/Cameron , Greenwood comes in or has 1 more week off. If he comes in I could see Douglas having a spell. Then against Geelong Thompson out , Mackay out , Douglas and Milera/Cameron back in

Totally agree.

We need to pick the best team for the Cats game, then think about what changes we need to make for this week's game.

Milera & CC look like they need to be managed, so they only play 1 of the next 2 games. Perhaps same with Mackay.

Seed should come in & perhaps Gallucci for this week too to rest someone for the Cats.

Makes me wonder if he plays SANFL next as the Crows can have a 1 Delisted player from this year playing in the SANFL. ie Callinan 2014.
I wouldn't be against it if he is going to teach them on field.

TMT will play but will one of the crouch brothers be rested ? That's the only spanner I see with Thommo
