Out: Thommo
In: Greenwood

Thommo is past it. We all know it, know hopefully he and the coaching staff do as well.

I'd also consider again dropping Milera. He was not awful tonight, even good in patches, and his kicking is very, very good. But 11 disposals? Not really enough and I think he lacks confidence to play with freedom. He should have had a shot on goal and yet he went for a tough pass that didn't come off. I want to see him have some arrogance in his play - the "I can do this better than anyone" vibe. Rather I have the "don't f*** it up/play safe" vibe. The classy outside player needs to go for it.

I think going back to the SANFL and being a class above would not hurt him at this point in his career - and Seedsman could come in and take his spot. But I doubt it will happen, but on a night we win by 10 goals he needs to get more of it (same goes for CC - two similar players, who are developing similar habits of not getting enough of it)

Wigg has the opportunity to prove himself in the SANFL this weekend. Greenwood in for Thompson is certain. I'd like to see Wigg in for Mackay. Wigg is a bigger body then Gallucci. Milera could do with some SANFL time maybe Menzel in too.

Pretty rough mentioning Mackay in the same sentence as Thommo. 72% TOG as a full time stoppage midfielder and he only just cracks double figures by picking up 2 late one's in the last couple of minutes. Deduct his 5 free kicks from his disposals and it's probably one of the worst games of football played by a full time mid in the last 20 years. Disgusting selection, disgusting performance and what's even worse is that he's a lock for next week. Now he's in, guess what? You can't drop Thommo, he's a warrior and he makes us better even when he can't run or get his hands on the ball. We got smashed in clearances which is why this liability was selected. But guaranteed, his name is penned in for at least a month whilst Greenwood gets to re-prove himself in the 2's.
Yes Thommo was embarrassing but he is partially to blame. Any decent team man would say 'play the future'. Not big man Thommo. He'll never be seen again. Should have happened 2 years ago.

Seems I might have upset some people.

I wonder what this thread is about, is it what we think the selectors will do, or what we want them to do or what they actually will do?

I thought Thompson struggled big time and should go, but as rocket18 says this is the AFC and who knows. I think Thommo will be given one more chance. We won big and that can justify carrying him one more '' because then Greenwood is fully recovered'' etc

Those calling for Mackay to be dropped are just writing his name as a knee jerk reaction, he played well in his role as a link man

Backline was much better without Hartigan. I like Otten as the second KPD. How much pace are we really losing? If Otten keeps playing like this with those clean hands then I think he keeps his spot even when Hartigan is fit.

Greenwood for Thommo the only definate. But we need to have someone giving that run that Mackay gives but without turning it over so often. If Seedsman is fit then he needs to come in. But I suspect Seeds needs more time to build his fitness.

Not sure that Douglas is doing enough either. We are putting games into underperforming Milera and Cameron because we expect that investment to reap rewards in the future. That luxury cannot be afforded to veterans like Dougie because there is no upside. If Hampton can return to full fitness before finals I want him in for Dougie unless his form changes dramatically. Where has Dougies early season form gone. Its like they are two different players.

Heard Don's post match presser. Greenwood will be back in next week. Pyke rightly so wasn't happy with thommo's game. Sanity prevails!

One change this week great 10 goal win Milera and CC probably lucky to be part of the winning team and won't be dropped and no one is ready to come in

May give Wigg and Cheney time to prove themselves in the twos and hope for an injury if everyone plays the way they did tonight Harto better hope otten loses firm or he will struggle to get a gig

But you never know Greenwood rested will they rest maybe Sauce in the next few weeks will it be a revolving rest

Have to agree.
As far as Dmac standard gos, that was a fair game.
No chance he gets dropped as he has survived many times playing far worse in losing teams.

Hint: They dont care about where his kicks go.
I think the issue with him again is when the heat is on he isn't found. 0 touches in the 2nd quarter and 14 in the second half once the game opened up for us.

What did he say?
Didn't say much. Just said he would have to review the tape. Also said its hard to step up from the sanfl level. For Don who is a man of little words, sounded like an omission that they made a mistke without directly saying it.

Gotta go in full strength and get revenge against the Demons,.. we had them on toast last time then coughed it up and got steamrolled.. this time needs to be ruthless.. first place to start.. being ruthless at the selection table.

Out -
Thompson(ommitted)- Absolutely love the bloke,. but sadly I think he is done - Club legend. Expect him to hang up the boots.
Douglas(ommited) - needs to find form, has been average for 5-6 weeks.
Cameron(ommitted) - needs a spell in the SANFL for 1-2 weeks just to find full fitness and full form in my opinion. Will return better from a break.
Brown(inj) - needs a rest, seems to spend time on the bench getting medical attention everytime he plays these days. No SANFL footy, just a week off.

In -
Greenwood - Great idea to rest him (not for my supercoach team though!) will be fresh and hungry next week against the demons.
Poholke - Deserves a chance at the big level. Can play forward / midfield so could be a great alternative for Douglas.
Doedee - Deserves a chance at the big level also. Straight swap for Brown, dying to see what this kid can do at AFL level. Please play him!

Lynch - If he is fit and healthy,. he plays, no question about it obviously. If he needs another week don't rush him back.
OR
Jarman/Galucci - Both seem to have popped up in the best & goals most weeks for the past 5-6 matches, give them a taste of footy this year,. then replace with Lynch/Cameron when both fit.

He would have been pumped about tonight best game we have played in weeks

He wouldn't be admitting any mistakes after tonight great effort by the team and coaching staff

That's Comedy Central

Because of the big win the only omitted change should be Thompson for Greenwood. If anybody else has an injury then they will be rested. But we have games ahead we need to win and cant afford to play with selection now. Once again we have left it too late in my opinion

I agree

Pyke is not going to publicly criticise Thommo however he deflected the question beautifully by saying he will need to have a look at the game

Thor in and Thommo out is a certainty IMO
