Still top of the ladder. Hawks did us a favour.
They should of won. Didn't convert and it cost them.

Imo, we would have been better off giving Polholke a debut game rather than playing a cooked Thommo.
Mackay stays in I reckon, id drop Douglas first. After the SANFL:
Out: Thompson, Mackay, Cameron
In: Greenwood, Seedsman, Gallucci

Milera on thin ice but gets benefit for mine.

I don't think Thommo will get dropped this week. I reckon it was a sighter for the Demons game and possibly the Cats game the week after. I think the selectors have identified (rightly or wrongly) that we need an experienced inside mid to free up the rest of them.
I'm counting on Thommo staying in, Greenwood coming in for someone else. Maybe DMac or Milera, maybe Cameron, possibly Douglas.
I don't agree with it, but that's the way I see the cards falling. There's no way they pick Thommo for just one game imo.
Outs - Milera ( rested) , Thompson
Ins - Seedsman , Greenwood
Job done
We have a six day break coming back from the heat in darwin against the pussies however. Need to bank the points against Melbourne. We're gonna have two extra days rest over the Demons leading into this game.

Wow did u see him finally throw a player around like a rag doll. Lol well it wasn't that great it was the smallest player in the afl. Daniels!!! Great work dmac.....

1st I agree with feenix that he will play, its not about form but its about respect. The one thing the AFC are big on is respect. (which can be a bad thing and a good thing)Thommo will be dropped and deserves to be
If you think about it, Pyke tested Thommo in a game that didn't matter we won imagine if he needed an inside mid at finals time and hadn't seen prior how he would cope
Think of the experiment as a god send

But not every player is going to have 20+ possies a week, are they?11 touches is not enough for Milera's class to have an impact on the game

This would be a pathetic selection if he gets a gifted a charity game when we are desperate for a win.1st I agree with feenix that he will play, its not about form but its about respect. The one thing the AFC are big on is respect. (which can be a bad thing and a good thing)
Imagine that being Thompsons last game? The AFC will endeavour to get Scotty over the line and finish at a level in line with his service to the club. The excuses will be '' blowing out rust'' '' the warm air will help'' 'cant let a champion finish like that'' etc
Greenwood in for Milera ( managed)

Excellent point.
We need astute selections here as we obviously need to win both games but are very likely to suffer from northern exposure.
I'd be looking at 3 changes per week from those on the fringes. I'd like to see at least 1-2 players per match that we need to see pre finals as we must start ensuring we don't have replacements for injuries playing finals with no recent AFL games.
Players on the fringe who haven't had recent run of AFL game time (if any): Seedsman, Wigg, Galluci
Other players who may be needed in case of injury to specific positional players: ROB, Poholke, Doedee, Keath (if Hartigan not up and running), Cheney (if comes back from injury).
Lynch needs to return at some stage. If he thinks he's ready for the Melbourne game then give him 50% SANFL game time instead then come back for Geelong.
We have more than 2 weeks to get the above players a game but I'd be targeting fringe running players for a selection rotation to keep us fresh. Current team members that would fit the bill are Mackay, Milera, Douglas. I'd be monitoring B Crouch very closely v Melb. Cameron on thin ice but needs continuity.
THIS WEEK:
In: Greenwood, Galluci, Doedee
Out: Thompson, Milera, Brown (been battered lately)
NEXT WEEK:
In: Lynch, Milera, Seedsman/Wigg, Brown
Out: Douglas, Mackay (for the rest of the season), Doedee, Galluci
That's EXACTLY why they need to refresh the team...6 day break post a tough game in Darwin before meeting the Cats. They won't be playing with the team too much top 2 possie on offer

We need to win both games and a conservative 'play the same 22/23 players' could be detrimental.
I'm suggesting rotating players in the 16-22 range who either should be dropped full stop or aren't pivotal to our chances.
We have seen last year how the alternate 'safe' approach has worked out.
