Hynes will be fine. He has played 10 games and is a big bodied mid that hasn’t grown into his frame.

Agree he needed to be dropped - he isn’t there yet and needs to own VFL not be picked because of attributes. Actually prefer Davidson as the medium tall - can play the leading forward role until Weightman comes back. In the VFL the year before we drafted him he played as a mobile CHF and was outstanding. Killed us.

Dolan and Artie smashing the door down and we are better with them in but I reckon Hynes will be the best of all of them in time just has poise and time. Having said that - I think Artie does more for the team than his stats - we are better with him in - bringing positive energy. And Dolan could develop into our Luke Breust - he is just a smart player. Will all be in our team going forward.

We're a good club at developing players, once we make the decision to invest in them. Come back to me in 3 years. One thing I like in Hynes is he has a willingness to take on the tackler & break through, once he has more strength in his legs & body he'll be a weapon. He has the build for it.

Bring the tooth n nail fight and we'll be hard to beat tonight

We should play the tune to Essendon pre game to fire them up, make a contest out of it

I feel like young players get written off far earlier than they used to.

Hynes is in his second season and showed some good stuff, he’ll be fine.
I don’t think anyone is unaware he’s only played 10 games, is writing him off or saying he won’t “be fine”. The main comments are just suggesting they would prefer M.Reid / Hannaford in the same draft class or Grlj / Robey in the latest draft, or that he’s lacking intensity at the moment.

Hynes was trusted with 6 CBA's in the R0 game against Brisbane. I agree that his form in the two games since then hasn't been great, but he would have shown enough to the coaches over pre-season to be trusted with that role straight off the bat in the opening game, especially in his second year and not having played too many games in his first.

And Bontempelli and Kennedy aren't exactly young. Looking longer-term, 5 years away, in terms of list balance, it's the type of midfielder we need - him and Freijah as the bigger bodied mids to offset that Sanders and Richards, being our best mids in 5 years time, are smaller, lighter types.

Don’t forget Zak who is only 25

I watched it.. I just thought against essendon it would be an ideal game for him to come back to ramp it up
Played limited 2nd half minutes clearly under 100%. Is withdrawn from the VFL. Will not be ready for weeks at best

Far, far earlier. Luckily we seem to have cool heads with good development at the club and no one listens to the musings on here

Yet time and again it is shown wait 4 years for judgement as young players adapt and get pre seasons into them

Hannaford has played less and shown nothing Robey can’t get a game in a dogshite bombers team

Grlj went the equivalent to pick 4 (without bids) so not sure the relevance

Murphy Reid is a fantastic player though
