Yeah but if I had a nickel for every time I thought we'd surely learnt our lesson about that...

...then I don't know how much I would have because I don't actually know how much a nickel is worth, but I'd have a lot of them.
A nickel is worth 5 cents. Despite the large number of times we haven’t learnt our lesson you would have to think in terms of a bus ride rather than the trip of a lifetime.

I think it’ll be easier than most are anticipating. A lot would have to go wrong to lose to them. Almost everything that could go wrong for us did vs Melbourne and it was still only 10 points. That was with Gawn doing whatever he wanted. Saints just don’t have that talent. They’ll come out firing in the same way Richmond did but not sure they maintain it for the whole game.
I think we'll win by 40 points. Perhaps more. In my opinion we have a team perfectly suited to playing at the indoor Marvel Stadium. Unlike previous years we have a tall forward line and a tall backline which is beneficial for indoor conditions. Plus our biggest weakness which in my opinion is kicking into the forward 50 should be helped by playing indoors.

This really is a carbon copy of the Melbourne game. Underachieving Victorian club blowtorched in the media. Coach under pressure. Even just saw an article advising Freo have been allowed to train at Marvel... Same things happened for us at the G!

The only difference is the vast majority of BF haven't already given us the 4 pts just yet.

Maybe St Kilda should start a really funny banners thread on their page, that's when I knew we were f*cked

Winning this game is an absolute non-negotiable. If we lose, it proves we are completely fake and last week was an aberration.
A serious team beats St Kilda away.
JLo should walk saturday morning if we lose.
I really don’t get this way of thinking and the term “serious team”. Saints beat the Cats a month ago, are they not a serious team? They then backed it up by beating Port in Adelaide. They are no easy beats and play Marvel better than just about every other team. Seems some are trying to under rate our opponent so they can pile on again if we lose.

Cats were miles off that night, that was their mulligan, we've already used up ours against the Dees. We need to be firing on all cylinders... if we lose, it'll be because we aren't mentally tough enough, and that'll be directly the coaches fault. Time to put up or shut up.

This freo team and list is genuinely different to all previous years.

For the first time - perhaps ever - we have a truly balanced list.

Perhaps more importantly, we have a culture that is rapidly transitioning to a “winning” one. All we need is a consistent one and flagmantle is a happening thing!

We have genuine depth across almost every position - when was the last time we could claim this? The concept of omac coming in for voss who was covering darcy then jackson is mindblowing to us long term freo supporters!

And we have genuinely elite players - who have already stepped up to this level at a ridiculously young age - darcy, javkson, treacy, bolton (i so want to type amiss but not just yet), brayshaw, young, serong, clarke, pierce, ryan and cox all have been elite previously and are showing strong indications of playing at this level this season.

Then there are the young guns coming thru…

So i know it sounds crazy, but if this team gets on a roll, and barring injuries, i now believe we can honestly finish on top of the table this season.

This weekend’s game will be the test though - can we / do we dominate like we did last weekend? Or do we go back to “which freo will turn up today?”

I hope for our sake, and the players’ sakes, we start to build momentum and become the premiership team we are capable of!

You still don't get the credit when we win one Peter, jog on..

Hate to burst your bubble, but we are 4-3 with the second easiest draw in the comp so far... nothing I've seen this year suggests this list, or this coach are capable of top 4, let alone top of the table...

I hope I'm wrong, but so many people are getting carried away off the back of one decent win against the Crows at home. I'd just like to see us beat St Kilda as a starting point. One week at a time please..

And you didn’t get carried away after 1 loss off the back of three wins in a row?

The ease of the draw is subjective, 30+ temps every game, double travel (which resulted in upsets for nearly all teams involved). Hitting a team at the wrong time.

The competition is still very even, we are still very young and have had key injuries. The players are coming back now so we are well placed. Save the dooming for after a loss.

No - I've gotten carried after away after 5 seasons of mediocrity under Longmuir... I hope it changes, but I'm not in the mood to be patient with him any longer.

All the fawning over Longmuir from the media off the back of one win is a bit ridiculous.

We are a bit short on escaped goats.
