what did Thompson do wrong in round 1? he scored quite well in DT/SC, and was promptly dropped, I didn't see the game and am just going by the stats. Your coach has a habit of not sticking with the kids for any length of time, (this aint a gee up). I like to see them get 3 or 4 games to proove themselves and to see what they've got. He did the same with Hansen last year.

Totally agree. It's a bit rough on the kids to give them 1 game to prove themselves. Thompson was servicable in Round 1 however I don't think he is in our best 6 defenders at the moment however with Gibbo and Pratt now out he can't be fair off a recall.

Surely Thompson is a shoe-in if you have two backmen out? Always compared him to Matty Scarlett from his VFL days. Was exceptional in the VFL Grand Final last year. Give him a go I say, perfect match up for Mickey O I reckon.

I would really like to have seen someone like Pratt on O'Loughlin. Someone that is going to rough him up a bit. O'Loughlin isn't a fan of the body on body contact. Thompson might not give him enough of that

I would be very nervous seeing Thompson go to Goodes in their forward line. If I was Paul Roos and saw that match up I would be giving Goodes as much room to operate as possible.

Sinkers and S.Thommo or Hansen to come in,although i think Eddie will be rewarded for some good reserves form and he is one of Laids favourites(see Brown and Watt).

What is Firrito's tank like now. He appears to be a lot bigger physically and has been down back for over 12 months now. Does he still ahve the tank to play a game moving around the ground?

If Roos is smart he will load up his forward line with blokes that can mark and try to stretch us.

We are going to have a hard time matching up a forward line of Goodes (193 cm), O'loughlin (190 cm), O'Keefe (190 cm), Barlow (194 cm) and if he decides to bring in someone like Playfair (198 cm)

He also has Ted Richards (194 cm) up his sleeve to go forward.

Throw in Buchanon and Davis and we are certainly going to have our hands full.

If Spider returns our problems compound even further.

Swallow has been a huge disapointment in 08 and has done nothing to say he should be in the team. Hansen is in the same boat. The kids got to perform.
My big tip for the week is that Ed Sansbury will come into the team. Has been playing exceptional footy in the reserves. Sinclair a definite IN.

Hansen is in the same boat? obviously you've done some selective research on the form of these players. Hansen was best on for Werribee in what was a pretty close game. Thompson & Sinclair were in the best as well.

Sansbury got some good consistant form but you have plenty of good small forwards who are playing well and need to replace a defender & a tall.

I'd put the house on sinclair to get a game & hansen should be given a run while you are a tall down, give him a chance to make some players earn there spot.

I would put petrie on barlow or goodes whoever is in the forward line at the time.Spud on micky o and watt on o'keefe as he is all we have got,as long as o'keefe doesnt get any kicks in the forward 50.

We also have jeese smith who could take a goodes or barlow if needed and if he did get either of those he could run off them easily.

the game will be won in the midfield and if we can get our smalls running and moving the ball quickly as they did in the last quarter against the pies we will win.
