I've got a feeling there is a bit of experimenting going on this week from Bevo going into the finals. It looks like he thinks there is a big chance we lose comfortably, hence why he's trying a few things at selection and think he is going to treat tonight's game as a real finals preview for our guys.

I hope he tries a few different things like play Hamling forward and back, maybe Cordy the same, and generally makes a lot of moves. I predict we'll go down between 4-6 goals, but I'd love a close win! Go Dogs!

An AFL club that is technically sitting equal second on the ladder by percentage with only 5 games to go before finals does not throw the towel in, no matter what the circumstances. Enough of this dribble I am reading please
I reckon the dogs have had this mini camp down in Geelong to prepare them for finals.

We may have to travel in the finals and tonight's game is a big one which should have a finals like atmosphere, so why not get our travel plans and travel prep right if we do need to travel in finals.

Its also about getting reps into our players for finals.

IMO tonight's game is not so much about the result, but about the process and the experience. There is no white flag and we are going to try to win at all costs, but there will be other benefits for team from this.

Plus, couldn't hurt putting the team in a bubble for the game to get them focussed after the week that we have had.

I am really excited for the game tonight. Go Dogs!

We're definitely not throwing the towel in. I highly doubt moyd and suckling are being rested. It's Woods 100th, and if we were prepping ourselves for the last 4 weeks we wouldn't have gone down to Geelong a day earlier than usual and have named Dahl and Stringer.

Plus, the last time the Dogs made five changes going into a game that we were significant underdogs for (read Sydney), we won.

In that game, players coming back from injury, and important players out.

At the end of the day we start the game with a full team - 22 V 22
Always a chance but my confidence is at '0'
The inclusion of Adcock really worries me. I can't help it but I just don't like him in the team. I'd prefer a kid in there anyday.
Again, I hope he proves me wrong

Yep, agreed.
We should be gearing up to win all 5 of our remaining games which will most likely give us a top 2 finish, as unlikely as that now seems.

It's 21 v 22 with Adcock

I seriously fear we will go down by over 10 goals. It's a big milestone day for the cats so once they are on top unlike us they will put the foot to the throat and go for the Kill.

If we are not switched on from the first bounce this is a real possibility.
Most interesting for me will be to see how the backline goes. Sooner or later we'll be without boyd and morris anyway.

Alternatively, we could be very switched on from the first bounce and apply early heat to the cats.

What seems to have been forgotten is we've got a really good- near full strength midfield that's been consistently good all year. It's not like we don't have avenues to goal either, two 50+ Goal kickers from last year and a reasonable marking target.

We never beat Geelong, and it'll be super tough tonight, deserving underdogs. But people seem to have forgotten that we're pretty good

Does anyone have any oil on Libba

was under par last week which most have linked to his Rib injury - a few suggesting he could be rested this week to get it right.

is he now right to go or is he still underdone?

He is one I would look at to lift us for this game but I'm not sure if he can with the ribs.

The second part of that is probably a good way to look at tonight's game. a glimpse into our future more than we have had previously.

I suspect Adcock will play in the ruck.

The Geelong players will react similar to the Roman guards in the Life of Brian Pontius Pilate/Gweat Fwiend in Wome scene, and we will run away with the game...

Ok so Hamling Cordy and Adcock are not quite as experienced and capable as the Morris Suckling and M Boyd combo but if they can somehow stick to Bevos 18 man whole team defensive strategy we might just be able to avoid a blowout.
The real question is, can we play smart footy forward of center and hit up a few targets inside 50 ?? Its going to be tough but I'm hoping for a close one with no injuries.
