As much as we dislike the defence's form, we really need some mature players helping out with Collins/Tucker/Crozier. So Dawson and Spurr won't get dropped. Perhaps Ibbo, who knows. But having a complete overhaul in defence isn't the best idea in terms of limiting the opposition as well as winning games. A. Pearce really benefited having Dawson/Ibbo around so Collins deserves that as well.

I think Uber speed,tackle and height is more useful in defense than sutty , get caught out too often in afl level, mora is a better version than Sheridan .

I think Ross was pretty peeved with the lack of tacking intensity so that could be an in for Grey he adds it to the team in spades. Essendon appear to be playing two rucks so that could be an in for Hannath/Clarke and finally Tucker is developing well enough to replace one of the plodders.

Not sure that Ross will go with 3 or 4 changes but if he did Grey, Clarke, Tucker and hopefully Mundy come in, I would see Suban, DeBoer, Sutcliffe and Ibbo coming out. That would be a little tough on DeBoer and Sutcliffe who were serviceable but the players coming in are just better Imo.

I wouldn't mind Ballas and D Pearce having a break but we all know that won't happen.

We lose, and somehow we're more then an utter joke. Don't think many of the young players want to lose to a team such as Essendon this year.

Oh look, another Tabs hater! Feel free to actually pay attention to our games, Tabs was our forward line today and looked damn good. In fact, Tabs has been our best forward for the past month. Let me guess though, Dawson sucks too hey?

Hannath will be cut at the end of the year. Move home and fade into obscurity.

Tabs apart from a few things this week put on a really good show. As did Dawson. Great to see Collins get a gig and look right at home. Leave him there for the year to speed up his development.

Suban was a serious concern and is being overtaken by first year players for what he offers for the side. Sutcliffe is the biggest concern, he seems to have lost his mojo from 2015 and Tucker is the obvious replacement.

While it would be great to bring in Mora, Apeness and Uber. Their fitness is not quite at the top level just yet. Two to three weeks though and we could have a very different forward line.

Pav and Ballas look cooked and that is very hard to look at. I think that our greatest player might make it past 350 and just play home games before he retires. Not sure with Ballas though, something is off there sync I hope that he is alright.

As a result there won't be drastic changes this week.

In - Tucker, Mundy.
Out - Suban, Sutcliffe.

If Mundy does not come up, Tucker for Suban.

The one that destroyed the moral was the DPearce chip over the top 15m kick that went on the full. That was horrible. I could have done that and I was 10 beers deep.

Dunno what's going on with Ibbo this season, but he's been awful.

On the plus side, Crozier is oozing class on half back. Don't remember a wasted possession.

His last contract renewal was a massive mistake and it's now coming home to roost. We could have a young developing ruckman on the list but instead we've got a bloke that we refuse to play.

That and De Boer's extension were bewildering mistakes IMO.

Not sure if they were massive mistakes. Hannath, having been in the Freo system for a couple of years and shown some potential, was kept on as backup and DeBoer given a lifeline when the Colin Syliva 'experiment' went bust.

The problem is they haven't been played to their fullest extent when compared to other under performing players who are given a free ride by Lyon or are his 'pets'. At least DeBoer gives 100% on field even if at times he is ineffectual.

If our club couldn't see what they now know about Hannath at the time of his contract renewal we're in deep shit. He hadn't shown potential, he'd shown exactly what he showed in the SANFL before we picked him up, and that was he is a slow lumbering trier that can impact at the lower level and provide depth for the league. But we had Sandi, Griff and Clarke in front of him with Moller and Apeness developing beside him. Most clubs have 3 rucks on their list or at the very most 4. Could we have used better? Maybe Adams or McGovern? I think so.

De Boer's contract extension effectively spelled the end of Ballard who I didn't rate but others did. We also have plenty of others on our list that offer exactly what De Boer offers I.e. A big body and inside grunt with poor skills and decision making. We should've been endeavouring to improve our deficiencies in skill and smarts instead of keeping hold of a bloke that had our deficiencies in spades and is hardly needed. Again, could that spot have been better used? Some would say Ballard would be ready now but there were other options available to us, again McGovern or Adams among others.

I think they were mistakes and totally lacked foresight and a total misunderstanding of our list. I'm certain they'd (the club) would be regretting the decisions now, neither are getting many opportunities despite our run with injuries and when they do, they don't do much. They're not in future plans and shouldn't have been 18 mths ago.
