Griffin clearly has the heart and hunger to play for Freo. No idea what Clarke has these days, just like he's not passionate enough for the game or just knows he doesn't want to be here in WA
I think the former rather than the latter. That game against the Saints when Longer pointed him towards the scoreboard, I think that was the moment he tuned out rather than stepped up. The only time he's responded at any length was after Ross challenged him to step up in the rooms of the game when Griff did his knee. He had a great year that year but never went on with it.

Did you get to the Perth and Peel game last week ? if you did you wouldn't be making the comment about Subes you made above. He kicked 3 goals for Peel (wich is just under half the 7.4 your team kicked for the whole game) against your scaly lot and played really well and deserves his spot for this weekend salim malik
Perth are the worst team in the WAFL, unable to score and unable to defend. I would expect even a sub-standard AFL player who has had 8+ preseasons to have a field day against them.

I was at the game and Subes played in the centre square and kicked 3 great
goals and not directly in front or over a short distance. He played like the shackles had been released. He is a quality player that will be there when we need to be at our toughest. Do you watch the Docker games on TV or do you go to the game to see the hard work and effort that Subes puts in that those on TV don't see hence their bias towards Subes.

If Subes is such a good player why did Ross make him the sub for our two most important games of last season? Could it be that he is a fringe player after 8 seasons of football?

Lol you've been telling me how much of rabble Perth are, and then you use his effort against Perth as if it's some kind of achievement .

Lol if suban didn't play for peel we won't had this conversation ;).

The problem with the selection of Suban is he was average against quality competition in the WAFL last week. Put him against a cellar dweller like Perth and he dominates. The exact same trajectory in the AFL, his best games were against a younger GWS, a shit Melbourne but never against quality.

It's gonna be wet Saturday and he's been brought in to provide some 'muscle'. The reality is he can only flex against young teams. His one trick of break tackle and kick long only works when he can break tackle, I bet we see more frees against than clearances.

It's harsh on Brady, and disappointing to see us revert back to Suban but the job of the match committee is to improve the team, and that's what they've done.

Just how much they've improved, and whether it's enough improvement to get us a win remains to be seen.

To improve we need to take 2 step back.

But we legitimately need to win a game. The youngsters will end up getting their development delayed if we get completely smashed. Next week is the Hawks.
We might win against GWS if suban play, he is a wet weather player.

Suban played a good game against a very, very poor wafl team. As Ross says there's a big difference between wafl form and AFL form.

I'd rather Grey in the team as long term development.

Yeah good onya . He kicked half of your lots total score wich is an achievement no matter who you play. The Dockers thought enough of his effort to pick him this week . I can't understand how you Suban haters continue to carry on about him and and you are worse than Dawson haters.

Suban did play a good game against a poor opponent as did De Boer, Ibbo and Tendai. The younger brigade not so much. They should have shined like the older guys but they didn't. If they couldn't manage it against Perth any senior AFL side would murder them. Langdon underwhelming, Collins just OK, Uber very average. Tanner was the standout of the younger stock but he is not that young and has had 3 years in the system. Hughes played well and has got his chance. Its the way selection should work. Do your job well and stay in the side or do your job well in the reserves and replace the non performers in the seniors. At the minute some of the old heads are playing better than the youngsters . Sure we need to play the kids but not all at once and what is the problem with bringing in experience to help the young uns out.
Grey and Tucker got their grab of experience and will work on their deficiencies back in Peel and no doubt get another chance but can anybody on here honestly say that apart from being young they deserve their spot this week.

Kind of disagree with your assessment regarding suban and co , playing regularly in afl for the last 4 year under Ross and compare them with collins ,Langdon and co. I will be worried if collins ,Langdon type train with peel boy everyday and not shine. By saying that I rather suban playing for freo than peel.

Eg- Smith you mention in sim he play on apeness as defender but for peel as forward. This player need to develop enough to become versatile.

Uebergang- last season local league play as defender and shine , move to WA play as forward and new to peel environment.

There were 15 Freo players in that side that train together plus a full coaching contingent. Its the Peel boys who have to cope with the game plan while not spending all week in meetings etc learning it. The Peel boys cope pretty well I reckon, the Freo boys should be starring. Your point about training together is not right

Subes played the game last week under a fair bit of pressure, Perth got stuck right into him from the first bounce.
Perth's midfield go's ok and Suban, De Boer and Pearce absoloutely smashed Tropiano, Jones and McKenna.
The guys who were hard to read were our KPP's as Perth have no key defenders and no forwards.

I felt after watching the Peel game and watching Freo's match that one or two of MDB, Subes or Clancee will come in.
GWS strength is their midfield run and we will need to contain it otherwise it may be over at half time.

I want to see youth as much as the next person and I am rapt Hughes will get a go and am looking forward to seeing Tanner Smith hopefully.
The reality is though a side needs balance and you need a mix of youth and experience.
Only way young players learn and gain confidence is through winning games nothing else.
Ross makes young players earn games and if they aren't up to scratch back they go to Peel and they can earn their spot again.
This is the best way to develop young players, you can't just throw them all out there and hope for the best.

That's proper rocket surgery right there innit!!:p:)

Well anyway I get my wish suban not playing peel. Also don't see the point to argue with you where I see collins , grey and tucker always play better for peel without suban there;).

Really disappointed with the dropping of Tucker and Grey, thought they both went alright against the Crows. Of the young brigade IMHO Blakely was the worst last week. I would have preferred that it was only one change Hughes for Clarke
