Some couldn't. Problem with Kerridge is he hasn't displayed one attribute to indicate there is anything AFL standard about him. Poor hands, no vigour at the contest, can't find the ball at all, uninspiring skills. You can't just tag and be shit at everything else. A ho hum prospect to begin with. Little to work with. Be surprised if he carves out a career, very surprised.

I'd be giving that spot to Lyons. Think the coaches will too.

Kerridge is a bit like Kane Johnston....no outstanding attribute and athletically worse than Kerridge

Think we agree Kane was a great player for this club

Yes, great call. Yes, yes, yes.

I was wracking my brain thinking of a similarity but you have nailed it.

Quietly confident James Aish will make it.
Stars have always stood out from first sighting .......but being an Aish and stick thin, i would question whether he caan add weight to play midfield AFL and whether his shoulders will be OK

My concern is not talent but physical

The other player fitting the "bland" player category was ...Tyson Stenglein

FFS - we get it, you don't like Sam Kerridge. You don't need to say it over and over in every single thread. How many post have you said this nonsense in today, 15 or 20?
It's blatantly obvious amer is a preacher... :p

Good luck for next week (not really ;) )
Cyril won't be playing for us as he did is hammy but I am guessing Walker won't be playing either so they cancel each other out.
Sewell and maybe Anderson should both be back from hammy's ironically enough. They should be the only changes imo

Such a shame about Cyril, but it helps us a whole bloody lot

Yeh it's a shame because he was BOG before he went off (at least for us). Looked a bad one as well so I expect he'll be out for 4-6 at least :(. However considering the luck with injuries we've had this season, we should just be thankful he will be back this year at all. We had a really off day today as a team and were lucky to get the win tbh. In fact it reminded me a bit of the prelim last year. Think the game will be a real 50/50 but who knows who Hawthorn team will turn up haha

BIG BIG Statement there by Campo ....hope he's right

No dropping D-Mac takes additional pace out of the side ....and that ATS is a real negative
If you drop someone like Pets then you have to have a replacement for the role .......IMO that can only be Wright who himself must be on shakey ground

But if Wright does replace Pets ....and I am not against that ....then Wrights role has to go to Riley and Lyons replaces Kerridge (if he is to be dropped???)

Really can't see the benefit of mainting Jacobs on current form ....unless he's carrying an injury which i doubt

Out: Petrenko, Walker, Kerridge, Brown

In: Johncock, Porplyzia, McKernan, Lyons
DMack isn't using his pace so we are losing nothing and believe me I'm a big fan of pace.
I'd say a combination of Jaensch and Wright is alot more dangerous than Pets 8 possessions, 5 tackles and 1 goal. But just on your comment about Wright being on shaky ground. His performances to date have been far and away better than Petrenkos form. But I would bring in Stiffy for Petrenko anyway, he is far more dangerous as a forward.
Kerridge remains as our tagger.

Out Tex, DMack and Pets
In Smack, Lyons and Stiffy

You're not saying the supporters who don't watch training, more often don't watch their SANFL games, and no nothing of the players motivation and personality, are better judges

Of course we're not better judges ........we can judge skill sets, but not mental toughness or readiness for AFL

No-one here currently knows which of the SANFL players will make it in AFL
What I am saying is coaches get it wrong even with all that information. We don't just trust they will get it right.

A couple of examples:
Not picking Crouch game 1 when he was ready
Not picking Lyons when we have underperforming players in the side. If you are not going to drop in guys spudding it up for someone who has killed it for over a year then something is wrong.

One thing that could potentially save Pets is Birchall. If we leave him unmanned, he will shred us up, so Sando may want to play someone who has experience as a defensive forward.

You know everyone talks about poor performing midfield but no names are brought up

Apparently all are playing ok ....but as a group we're failing

Now it seems to me we're ok bagging the fringe players ....but not the big name players who are the team heroes

No way can Stiffy do the Petrenko role ......hey that's why he was dropped (no tackling) ......and his lack of accountability with loss of pace is why he was moved to forward line

Wright or Riley are the only two replacement options IMO

Tell you know D-Mac won't be dropped......so he's the midfield problem and replace him all's right again

Like the job he did on Walker and Goodes the week before?

I agree he has been useless, and I do think he should be dropped. I'm just saying Sanderson clearly likes him, and may be tentative to throw someone new onto someone as good as Birchall. But yes, Petrenko should be dropped, preferably for someone like Lyons or Riley

Campo saying that was for Smack's benefit...really make or break time for Sean, if he gets his chance he has to make it a winner or he surely will be tradebait at the end of the year.

Wrote earlier in the day that Pets goes out Matty J takes Pet's role. Bling comes in for Matty J's role.

I don't understand your logic. Yes our midfield is struggling but they are still playing better than the fringe players. We need our midfield to improve but whilst that happens we can not also carry fringe players who aren't performing.

Besides which of the midfield would you drop? Danger, Sloane, Thommo, Dougie, Vince, Wright? Has player would you drop and keep DMack and Pets?

As for Pets role, perhaps we can no longer afford the luxury of a defensive forward role that doesn't stop the oppositions best running defender? Walker killed him and he offered nothing offensively.

And that's why we shouldn't always blindly trust coaches, they get it wrong.

delaying Crouch for a week really doesn't mean coaches were wrong .....think Sando said last year Crouch could be as good as Dangerfield ...that's hardly making a wrong call on a player

How many players have been let go by the Crows to flourish elsewhere ??? .......and no we wanted to keep Ivan

The so called BF judges always wanted Griffen gone ......so now who got that one wrong ? .....think us supporters the supposed better judges?

We don't know if Lyons can play at AFL level ......but i'll say this ....we rushed players the club knew had the attributes in Crouch, Brown, Shaw ....there's obviously a reason Lyons hasn't been rushed in likewise

In history there are many players who have played 50-100 games of SANFL, VFL, or WAFL footy who have , once matured, gone to have great AFL careers

No thats wrong ....our star players and leaders have a different level of performance required ......saying that their still better than the kids is flawed
The team under that performance assessment will go backwards at a rate of knotts

You can't say would i drop Petrenko v Thommo  ....... were talking about the different functions within the team

If the problem is forwrds and we're getting 50+ forward entries then you look at attacking forwards .... if the ball is coming out too easily from our forward 50 you look at players like Stiify, Petrenko, and Porplyzia

If we're not getting thee ball to the forwards either often enough or delivered correctly then it's the midfield

The inside 50's from Saturday were:
Adelaide - 51
Carlton - 64

So which area is mostly responsible for this result ......Pets or McKay?

No it's our much lauded midfield group that apparently is without scrutiny because of their Golden Pass .....so you can change all the other players all you like ....but that result above goes unchanged ....and you can't say the other players are not negatively impacted by the inactions of our midfield group

May not drop some of these players ....but i'd take them out of midfield rotations ....like Wright and maybe even Thommo

What about Bling taking Pets role and still playing Jaensch up forward? ....adds a lot of speed to forward setup?
