It wasn't for the faint hearted out there today. Very contested and a lot of heavy body contact. If Jack Watts is cracking in and not taking a backward step in that environment he'll crack in against his old club without a problem.

Like for like DBJ replacement is Irra. At the members convention when Cripps went thru our list, under the Lock Down defender heading, there were only 4 players. 2 were DBJ and Irra. I can't remember who the other 2 were. I think they were a couple of taller defenders.
Took a few good contested grabs as well.

Had a good game in the SANFL today but doubt he will be replacing anyone after a 50 point win. Would likely be first in if we need to replace someone with pace.

Even though the gesture was amazing, it would have been emotional for Todd. Pretty sure I shared this before , when my mum passed even though lovely when people spoke to me about it, it made me upset. It’s still raw and the reference would have trigger emotions for hi . I’m not surprised he disappeared, he will be better for it, onwards and upwards.

By ignoring your first sentence and not playing Irra.
If DBJ is out, Watts in, Watts goes up forward and Westhoff (or even Ebert who took a few chop-off intercept marks on Thursday) spends more time in defence to compensate. If DBJ isn’t out, then it probably would have to be one of Thomas or Marshall who’d come out for Watts, or alternatively Watts misses out again.
If Jonas is fit, then one of Hombsch or Clurey comes out for him.

I’m loving having 4 in form key defenders right now. I wouldn’t be averse to jonas for dbj if he is out for this melb game. If melb win it will be because hogan and McDonald made it happen.
