Well this definitely isn't a leading question. Obviously I have no idea what I'm talking about and my only interpretation of the game is through looking at a stats page.

He just didn't have a good game. He didn't get into it much and when he did, he turned it over more than he should have. That sounds pretty basic, but apparently backing up qualitative opinion with stats is a big nono.
You missed bolding the Fisher part of your quote - that is the biggest clue ;) Also, easier to analyse when lucky enough to be at the game.

Seriously?

I'd keep him in.

Hasn't set the world on fire, but give him another few weeks, see which way he goes.
He was ok ay tonight. Alot better game than Kerridge and Wright. I think its time that we try Brodie Martin up forward . the only decent chance he has been given with Adeliade was in defence and we all know he is not a defender as he has too attacking a mindset. He is a centreman, wingman or forward. he has the speed to apply forward pressure, and a good kick and can create. So he has the ability to chase like Patrenko and can also kick a few goals like Kerridge, from ehat I have seen now over a few weeks Kerridge is a marking forward . If he doesnt take the mark he is a bit lost.

Kerridge played a tagging role in the 1st half on Fisher, then moved into defence when they went smaller with the sub. He played a discipined game & makes sure he uses the ball when he gets posession. IMO, was not our worse player - Wright struggled more & was subbed accordingly.
ee some people get looked after on here. his game was crap, his credit comes from the GWS and i could have got goals against them

I'm surprised Henderson didnt play yesterday and can only assume he was being held back as the resting emergency?

If this is the case then a guy coming back from injury surely should have played, even if he was the 23'd picked.

The reward of game time then not being available for the Crows if there was a late omission outweighed the risk of playing Jeansch or another emergency we had if required.

He'll have missed a month of footy now and almost has to come back through the SANFL IMO.

Why don't you go and have a listen to the coaches press conference before making statements like this.

He was glowing in praise for Sam Kerridge game, his flexibility and diversity to how he he can fit into the team.

Unchanged unless bringing Crouch in, it is time to settle the bloody side, not chop and change and try new players after 2 wins in a row, let the side settle and see who doesn't fit, then make a change if it is needed.

Not everyone can get 20 bloody touches, there is only so much ball to go around and there was a fairly even spread across the top half which didn't leave much for those in the bottom.

Suggest you watch the Blues v Saints game & come back posting when you understand the roles players play.

Rooch prompted him.

Sando's not going to wave it off and say 'nah, he was shit'.

He's not Malcolm Blight.

I'm sure he could have articulated it a bit different to that.

If he didn't believe he was worthy of that praise, I'm sure he would have have the intelligence to word it accordingly.

Sando is not likely to give credit where credit is not due.

Were you at the game? do you understand Kerridge's role to the team? Did you watch the Saints v Blues?

Could you have also kept Birchall quiet whilst kicking goals?

Jenkins said on 5AA that's it's helped having Smack as its allowed him to play solely as a forward. When he was rucking he was too knackered to lead. He also said Smack is taking more of the ruck than Jenkins did and Sauce is benefiting from that. In a nutshell there is no way Smack will be dropped.

Funny, I was told in no uncertain terms that I should be red carded when I suggested we should consider bringing McKernan in, per-Walker injury, for the very reason that he would reduce the load on guys like Jacobs, Jenkins and Walker(now Lynch) and allow them to better play their roles.

If we had another player who could play McKernan's role better than he can, I'd bring them in, but our tall forward stocks are running on empty and our rucks are a long way off AFL standard. McKernan will be given time and I think we'll slowly see him play himself into form and adjust to the level.

I hope we don't get over excited with Callinans 5 goals against Sturt, so far this year we've had Johncock, Johnston, McKernan and Callinan have all kicked massive bags against them. I'd like to see him back it up against a decent opposition, although quite frankly I think our forward structure is working better without him, just rotating our midfielders through the forward line.

I wouldn't be against going in unchanged, but then I'd love to see Crouch back in the side. The sooner we get 50 games into the likes of Crouch, Kerridge, Brown, Laird and Lyons the better in my opinion, for mine each of them just scream 10 year player. They'll be a little up and down, but at the moment they're all contributing really well and bringing an infectious enthusiasm to the side.

Good post James.

Like you, I was calling for McKernan to be playing from round 1, along with JJ.

Hated Tex getting injured, but could turn to be a blessing for Smack discovering consistency at AFL level.

You're like a dog with a bone.

No, I didn't watch Saints last week but I thought Fisher was one of their better players today. And I wasn't at the game today - you will probably claim that invalidates my opinion but I find that there are advantages and disadvantages however you're viewing the game.

As to your middle question - do you? Are you in possession to the AFC's tactics handbook? It's strange that you would continually insinuate that another poster lacks games knowledge when you were the one talking up Kerridge's ball use. Sneer at stats all you want, he was the least efficient on our team despite the majority of his touches coming from uncontested chip marks. You may talk up his defensive pressure but it didn't seem that apparent, one of the downsides of the game was how easily the Saints were able to move the ball out of their defensive 50. And you may say that he shut down Fisher, which I don't really agree with but I guess you're comparing what Fisher did tonight with last week and saying that Kerridge was the sole reason for his difference in output.

So yeah, the way I saw it, he struggled to get involved offensively and when he did his disposal was dodgy. And I didn't see anything stand out about his defensive game.

But I guess I WASN'T AT THE GAME, I DIDN'T SEE FISHER IN THE 2010 GRAND FINAL, STATS ARE BIASED AGAINST KEDGE'S MAGIC TOUCH, I WASN'T AT THE GAME, I DON'T SIT IN ON AFC STRATEGY MEETINGS.

We are all allowed to have an opinion.

Yes, I was at the game & watched Kerridge play on Fisher who is a key player to the Saints. Sando wouldn't have praised his role in the game if unwarranted. Stats are not everything.

Both McKernan and Kerridge played well. Kerridge did have one horrible turnover. I think it was in the 3rd q. I can't see either of them being dropped. Crouch or Martin for Wright. Wright needs to regain touch in the twos.
