Changes v North

Like all your reasonings and can see merit in your changes but do you think having Brown, Laird and Jaensch in the back line makes us too small?
That's the only reason I would keep either Luke Thompson or Shaw in the team. Decided on Lukey T as he can kick.

He had clean hands? When was that? Half time when he washed them? Jesus!
Shaw was shocking. No escaping it, he was absolutely terrible. His disposal of the ball is country B grade level.

Say what you like, he was one of the few crows who could actually handle the ball.
Bolded part is 100% true, and to be fair, probably giving him too much credit.

I swear dangerfield and eddie were playing with a cake of soap...

He handled it 9 times

He handled it 9 times
How many times did Dangerfield touch it? I'd estimate 90% of those involving a fumble.

Shaw didnt have it much but he actually picked the flipping ball up, took the ball with him.
His disposal was rubbish, and is not AFL standard because of it.

Just sayin' that aspect of his game was encouraging. He did the right things at the right time, he just absolutely scrubbed his disposal.

Thats what happens when you (Dangerfield) warm up by trying to collect every ball one handed. Did he not realise it was raining?

Maybe go post on a message board they contribute to then?

He was decent in the first half; how do you rate his second half?

Servicable.
His game was certainly better than: Douglas, Dangerfield, Lyons, Grigg, Betts, Cameron, Smith, Mackay, Henderson etc etc.
I really dont think I need to keep naming players who should be under the spotlight before Pods.

Are you pods?

The guy is there to take marks, if he isn't taking pack marks, then we can play someone else who can do everything else better than him. He is a liability when the ball hits the ground, and along with JJ, provides zero defensive chasing. Tex chases much harder than both of them, and he is the only one who has an excuse for not chasing.

Game was there to be won in the second half, pods had 3 touches. 2 of which were gifted to him. He cannot run out a game.

He is under the spotlight, because as you have said before, there is more to a game than possessions, and pods and JJ need to realise it isn't against the law to chase opponents.

with norths quick ball movement out of defence, and the expected conditions, pods or JJ mustnt play, it would be just another coaching mistake to add to sandos growing list.

Think we might be ahead of ourselves with Cameron. On a night like last Saturday when it was so difficult to mark the ball, our smalls should have racked up possessions. Didn't happen. I think CC needs another pre-season in the gym before being let loose in wet conditions. I have no doubt he will be a star.
Shaw? Not AFL standard. If you can't kick you can't play footy.

Comparing JJ to Pods on second efforts is not even close. Thats like comparing disposal between sam mitchell and sam shaw.

Watch the game again for proof of Pods repeat efforts.
Watch the game again and listen to where Dunstall, Richardson and Ling all discuss what a good recruit hes been and how he does the important little things which go unnoticed (well by nuffys like yourself)

He didnt have a big second half, which is to be expected from a tall forward in wet conditions when we're using the ball like we were.

Too many of our players fall into that last category.
Including many of our "A" Graders.

Brent Harvey referred directly to the tribunal and can't make an early plea lol. He's in trouble I feel, surely he'd miss next weeks game. Footage will be up on the afl site soon.

Wells and Harvey out. Hmmm, sounds good, but I'm sure we will find a way to screw it up.
Wouldn't surprise me if we brought Laird in to tag Harvey and didn't realise until an hour before the game that Harvey was out.

There is no doubt Pods effort kills JJs soft **** attitude but Pods still played poorly.

No it isn't, the commentators don't have much idea, they just like pods because of his story in football. Pods cannot last a game, and does not chase at all, but neither does jenkins. They are both terrible at it. Important little things.....if we are playing a 34 year old because he does important little things, which might lead to us maybe sneaking into the 8, what a waste of time. Should not of been in the side once the conditions were known, but as we know, he is sandos pet

He took 2 marks, 2 marks. Unless he is taking pack marks, we have other players who can come in and do everything else better. Im not even confident lynch would be playing at the moment if he wasn't injured, pods can do no wrong no matter how poor he plays.

Instead of little tap ons, which work 1 in every 5, maybe he should focus on picking up the ball, which might lead to him getting more than 10 touches

DangerSloane is pods. Those little taps bring so much to the team, even though pods can't provide any defensive pressure or workrate, not to mention he can't play a full game

Apparently north were shocked, and had no idea what the sanction was for when it came through

Can Ellis-Yolmen play as a third tall in defence? Maybe clutching at straws but anything is better than diabolical Shaw.
