Think you're aiming that at the wrong person, I've never brought up Pods deft taps..Those 'deft' taps
Does pods know it isn't a crime to chase your opponent out of the forward line? Someone must inform him. Jenkins seems to have read the same law
Tex chases his ass off, when he should really be the only one who doesn't chase because of his long lay off

He needs a lengthy wind up and needs to be able to have a several step run up in order to kick the ball.Hate is a strong word for Sammy shaw. We all want him to be a gun versatile defender, but let's face it, his left foot is his Achilles' heel.

Hmmm, big concern.Talia-Petrie
Thompson- brown
shaw-black
brown-thomas
harvey-jaensch
Bolded is a big worry
play pods or jenkins on petrie. Even if petrie kicks 17, would be good to see those two actually chase an opponent for onceHmmm, big concern.
Perhaps play jj on petrie so Shaw & hendo can be dropped. Jj needs a defensive lesson.
mckernan>pods
those 'deft' taps. 3 touches after half time, says it all. Get someone in the team who can last a whole game
We're working on it!
In reality some very ordinary teams will finish 6-8.
Apart from the first quarter Richmond were utterly dreadful as well.
I caller rang in last night and had a crack for not playing Porps, Reilly and Rutten. I almost wet my pants
Would another big tall be wise for the wet conditions in Hobart surely lynch or jhonson should be chosen for their mobilityWatching the replay.
Pods and Jenkins were both rubbish.
I'd drop both of them, but I'd drop JJ first - Pods may not be up to it anymore, but at least he tries; Jenkins was flat out pathetic last night.
McKernan would bring more intensity - and that says it all.
I don't know if Lyons is a "tall" midfielder. If we want to get any where as a club in the coming years we have to be brutal
Out
Shaw(Chant kick or handball for shit and his defence is poor)
wright(I don't know what role he plays but he makes no impact)
Lyons(as a tall midfielder he took one mark and generated no scores)
Henderson(yeansch and smith will break the lines he does nothing)
Jenkins( his attack on the ball in a one on one contested is atrocious besides our 4 tall forward line doesn't work in the wet and pods has done enough to keep his spot. For now)
Mackay(maybe? a shame he got injured hopefully he's ok he was one of few who could say they played decent until his injury of course)
In Crouch-Johnston-Thomson-rutten-kerridge-laird-
Johnson will play as tall back and a mobile forward who moves up the ground much like he did in the sanfl
Crouch and Thomson will play on ball as well as crouch 2 and sloane, if danger doesn't lift he gets dropped for a week, unless he gets injured then he can be forgiven.
Rutten to come in to contain their talls and jhonson to spend some time back as well.
Kerridge will do what he always does against the roos and laird will play a crucial tagging role on Harvey
Lineup
B Thomson talia laird
HB yeansch rutten smith
C dangerfield Thomson Martin
R jacobs Crouch Sloane
HF Kerridge Podsiadly Cameron
F Betts Walker Jhonson
I/C Douglas crouch Brown :Sub Grigg
Matchups
Thomson-brown
Rutten-black
talia-Petrie
Brown-Thomas
Laird-Harvey
Thought he hadn't been ruled out? could he play with a small fracture?
Like all your reasonings and can see merit in your changes but do you think having Brown, Laird and Jaensch in the back line makes us too small?Anyone saying Lynch should play needs their head read. Seriously you must be drunk or stoned. Another collision with a cracked vertebrae...can of worms.
Have watched some not all of this indictment of stupid coaching, dumb decision making and players who just can't cut the mustard. Why we would go in with three talls on a wet night is beyond belief...should have made a late change....is Tassie going to be any better? 16 degrees and 40% of rain.
Problem is there are too many passengers, too many whose form from week to week is patchy at best. North is a must win, but cards need to be stamped or marked. More statements have to be made to these spuds who think what they put up on the weekend was anywhere near good enough.
Got to go with one less tall, its either Pods or JJ who has to go and I am tipping JJ as the only time he runs with any pace is when there is a chance of a goal.
His limp efforts need to be addressed. Send him back for the rest of the minor round. Breathing fire for the finals if we make it.
Dmac is a given out...once again how did this guy get 4 year contract??
Hendo...not a defenders jockstrap...too soft. Play him on the wing if you have to or not at all, but not as a defender...Sloane would be a better option.
Wright...can't kick from more than 40, too slow with his decision making...he can get the ball, but the consistency that he displayed in 2012 is gone.
Grigg does some good things and he has been worth his weight as the sub. Wright should be sub for the rest of the year if he plays at all.
Douglas hasn't regained his form and while he is playing a run with role, his decision making and skill level is not up to what it should be for a player of his experience. Run with role isn't helping either. Keeps his spot...just.
We have to get Danger out of the midfield for at least half of the game time, his field kicking is just woeful atm. Play him on the HFF or rotating to the goal square where he leads up at the ball.
Lyons...jury is out, but a wet game should have suited his elite in and under clearance skills...
Lukey T...can see why you have been playing SANFL all season. Unfortunately the cupboard is bare...either him or Shaw needs to go out.
Shaw. Until someone teaches him how to kick properly...not good enough.
Martin... has some tickets that keep him in the side, but prime option for sub this week.
Scotty T is an interesting one...they have given him a couple of weeks to be right for this game....big risk, but the season is shot so spin the wheel.
So...who to bring in...
The Kedge...as has been stated Norf are his beearches and we need his run with and goal kicking skills. Hard body, makes good decisions...tick...in for either Lyons or Wright.
Junior Crouch....seriously Sando if he doesn't get a game in cold wet Tasmania we might as well trade him...don't know what else the kid has to do to get another game...play him with his brother and sit back and listen to all the I told you so's. In for either JJ or Pods.
Thommo...in for Lyons or Wright...if he breaks down then its the season and possibly retirement.
Laird...played as a defender, not run with, not forward...DEFENDER.
Now case for getting rid of both Thompson and Shaw....we need a tall player who can kick...Lewis Johnson...while I agree his attitude and work rate border on carbon rod status, we need tall players at the back who can kick and put some body on their opponents...its either him or Siggins, or Kelly or dare I say it Smack.
The other option is to swing Pods to CHB for the game and leave JJ and Tex as the two tall forwards...Luke Thompson is saved for one more week and gets the third tall which he is more suited to with instructions to stick to him like his shadow. I am going to go with the Pods option for now, but LJ would be next on the list of options. Rutten is cooked. Sorry to say he shouldn't get another game for the AFL side.
Do we make a statement and drop Douglas for Atkins or another young buck from the state side? Probably not. 4 changes are the most we could hope for. Depends if Sando has the balls to do it with such a finals like game away from home?
Out: Mackay, Wright, Lyons, Shaw
In: Kerridge, M Crouch, S Thompson, Laird
B Brown Talia Laird
HB Jaensch Pods? Sloane
C Smith B Crouch Henderson
HF Dangerfield Walker Douglas
F Betts Jenkins Cameron
R Jacobs Kerridge S Thompson
I M Crouch, L Thompson, Martin or Grigg sub
Biggest culprit of this....we are slow enough as it is and can't afford these hold ups.Wright - disposal ordinary & holds up play rather than quickly moving ball on. Again out of form.
Sensational post!Anyone saying Lynch should play needs their head read. Seriously you must be drunk or stoned. Another collision with a cracked vertebrae...can of worms.

In: Kerridge, M Crouch, S Thompson, Laird
B Brown Talia Laird
HB Jaensch Pods? Sloane
C Smith B Crouch Henderson
HF Dangerfield Walker Douglas

R Jacobs Kerridge S Thompson
I M Crouch, L Thompson, Martin or Grigg sub

See bolded above...I'd give Shaw one more go, and drop Hendo. Sloane to wing, Shaw to half back, Dougie to sub, Danger and Kedge to interchange at half forward. I'd even consider JJ on bench to start with and a more conventional back line with LT starting at CHB, Pods at FF. Change it up if we're under the pump. Edit...only other consideration is Siggins for one of LT or Shaw....So...who to bring in...
The Kedge...as has been stated Norf are his beearches and we need his run with and goal kicking skills. Hard body, makes good decisions...tick...in for either Lyons or Wright. Agreed
Junior Crouch....seriously Sando if he doesn't get a game in cold wet Tasmania we might as well trade him...don't know what else the kid has to do to get another game...play him with his brother and sit back and listen to all the I told you so's. In for either JJ or Pods. Agreed. Comes in for Mackay.
Thommo...in for Lyons or Wright...if he breaks down then its the season and possibly retirement. Wright out - too vanilla.
Laird...played as a defender, not run with, not forward...DEFENDER. Stick him on Harvey again...although Harvey got a lot of it last time, they weren't damaging touches.
I liked what I saw of Siggins in particular on the weekend, and Kelly did some good things. I'd personally go with Siggins as he seems a bit bigger. LJ looked lost down back, and was outpointed a few times by undersized opponents - he's no upgrade on LT or Shaw in my view. Hendo would be another that is on shaky ground - seems to have no anticipation as to where the ball will go, and it looks as though he hears footsteps even when relatively in the clear.
Do we make a statement and drop Douglas for Atkins or another young buck from the state side? Probably not. 4 changes are the most we could hope for. Depends if Sando has the balls to do it with such a finals like game away from home? Atkins didn't play for the SANFL team on Saturday...is he injured or was he an emergency for the AFL team?
Out: Mackay, Wright, Lyons, Shaw (Hendo)
In: Kerridge, M Crouch, S Thompson, Laird Spot on. As you mentioned...play Pods down back if need be. I'd use Kerridge in the Lynch role, as he can take a grab and is a good disposer of the ball.

Welcome to the battle of the AFL's head cases lolI think Kerridge is going to "fall down the stairs" pre game.![]()
