Changes v North

Hopefully Kegs and Danger out of the forward line provide a headache for them as Lyons racks up 30 odd disposals and a dozen clearances for BOG!...................... ok, I'm awake now.

For me a HFF needs to be someone with a penetrating kick or tall and hard running/fast that can mark or zippy and can run all day. These aren't particularly Lyons strengths...... He can take a mark and kick a goal, but not generally a HFF type player.

You look at the players other teams use off the HFF and through the midfield:

Daisy Thomas, Steven Motlop, Matthew Stokes, Adam Goodes, Lewis Jetta, Saunders, Bennell, Robbie Gray, Paul Chapman, Josh Hill, Blair, L. Taylor, Bewick, Delideo, Bontempelli, Hunter, Hoskin-Elliott, Nat Fyfe, etc.

They all have the above abilities.

Even when we had Knights there, he had a booming kick and was quick/hard running! We all had hope for Jaensch in the role but he's slotted nicely down back. HFF is the death knell of Lyons career.

Each week we keep a HFF spot for misplaced selections. It confuses the opposition  let alone the AFC players and supporters

He will get 5 kicks, all goals haha

Not sure if you or your Crows brethren know this, but for years on the North board we had an award known as the "Perrie". It was reserved for hacks that tore us apart.

Ian Perrie being the biggest one. Another notable winner, though he didn't have the name of the award named after him, was Hayden Skipworth (or shitworth as i liked to refer to him).

Anyway, the award is now known as the Kerridge for obvious reasons, and will likely stay that way until the end of time.

He's not really a hack though... I will give you that he's not usually a 5-6 goal a game player.

Yep he will be a solid AFL player in the future but will still thrash you haha. Perrie was a hack true that

Henderson & Mackay out
Laird and Crouch in

Douglas sub.

Grigg needs a full go at it. Was great. Lyons was excellent in the first half. Crouch needs to come back into the team. Way too early for Kerridge to come back.

surely we cant drop both... mackay injured means henderson has to stay. he was useless on the weekend but we could chuck him on the wing. our team would be so slow with both out, and be the worst kicking team in the afl if we arent already!

Or, maybe we could play Smith further up the ground and have Hendo play his role as loose man back. Would confuse oppn, and also give Hendo the role he excelled at last year.

Laird will seriously be consider on the back of a 42 possession game last week against Sturt along with
M.Crouch and Kerridge

Henderson will keep his spot for run and carry assuming Mackay is out.

Scott Thompson i would put in cotton wool because he is very likely to be running on the spot with very sore hamstrings
midway through the 3rd quarter and won't be able to run out the game very well if someone is sub off with a injury.

Atkins my only question is he ready to play a game of AFL football and contribute.

Johnston i doubt will come in because i think his papers have been stamped.

as much as we cant afford to have thompson/shaw/henderson in the team, north are pretty tall so have to play them. Shaw is better defensively than thompson but a terrible kick. should be CHB.
-talia will take out petrie
-brown will take out thomas
-thompson to black
-shaw to brown
-henderson to the wing, dont want him in defence with his form and mackay is going to be out injuerd no doubt so need some pace and class on the wing.

need laird and kerridges grunt and tackling pressure in the midfield but not sure who laird would go out for... lyons must continue to play full games. the worse performer out of thompson/shaw should be out for laird the following week. mackay in for henderson depending on how he plays this coming weekend. Kerridge to tag swallow and rotate with dangerfield/douglas at hf. toss up between martin, douglas and grigg for sub but griggs athleticism means that for me, he is sub

in: kerridge, s.thompson

B: Brown Talia L.Thompson
HB: Smith Shaw Jaensch
C: Henderson S.Thompson Sloane
HF: Dangerfield Jenkins Betts
FF: Cameron Walker Podsiadly

S Thompson will play as could have last week at a stretch but we wisely for once gave him the extra week.

I just don't see the point picking Hendo as so out of touch since his return & needs to find confidence in the sanfl. Basically playing 1 short which is stupid.

I hope you gave an award to Peter Caven for that one day in September in 1998?

Can you elaborate on why you believe Kerridge is a hack?
