If we go into a showdown having dropped VB and relegating Wright to sub, then I really don't think anything more could have been expected than that. Hell, I was prepared for VB to be sub and CEY out of the side as the only changes if there wasn't any injury movements. And I would still have been mildly satisfied, although I think it's a bit harsh on CEY, but game time is a reasonable enough explanation.

edit - oops, Wright to sub, not Martin. I was thinking that Martin could comfortably play his hff role and somehow inserted his name.

No. Unsure about that. Guess we'll know after 2pm today. My guess is all 3 will play SANFL. But guess only.

If nobody is in doubt they might play Shaw for a half then take him off. Lyons needs a full game.

I agree. Lyons def needs full game. It will be interesting to see whether he gets another run in AFL. Don't think he'll fit in there with M crouch and Thommo. Would be good to see Thommo out and see how Lyons and M Crouch go in there. Lyons has more defensive run than Thommo...just

Caleb Daniel was fantastic in debut as sub. Personally I don't have an issue with it, I just hate the sub rule as a whole.

Its like fielding under the lid in your first couple Test matches....... earn your stripes.
