B: Easton Wood, Aaron Naughton, Zaine Cordy
HB: Bailey Williams, Alex Keath, Hayden Crozier
C: Lachie Young, Jackson Macrae, Jason Johannisen
HF: Sam Lloyd, Josh Schache, Patrick Lipinski
F: Taylor Duryea, Josh Bruce, Ed Richards

Foll: Tim English, Marcus Bontempelli, Bailey Smith

I/C: Josh Dunkley, Matthew Suckling, Toby McLean, Lewis Young

Hopefully more than twenty two entries, time for penetration off the wings.

Richards and Duryea up forward? Hadn't considered La Young on a wing either.

Love most of that team, but the forward pockets make baby jesus cry

Duryea has played the forward role before and can be deceptively good in the air, Richards not really sure, but his speed
does intrigue me. Need some hold it in grunt down there can be a little all or nothing at times.

Duryea is our best small defender (not counting JJ) so I'd hate to use him elsewhere. If we need aggro up forward, adding Gowers back into the mix would probably be just as effective without taking away from our already poor defence

Using the words Effective and Gowers in the same sentence is like going to the Morton's for Christmas dinner and watching
Cale and Mitch argue over who was the shit brother.

Bont on the wing, Cordy forward, plenty of young and fast players to give us some energy we desperately need.

Crozier Trengrove Wood
Daniel Keath JJ
Bont B Smith Lipinski
Richards Cordy Lloyd
Cavarra Bruce Dale
English Macrae Dunkley

I/C: Wallis, Vandermeer, Suckling, Williams

If Naughton and Libba are fit then they’re in for Cordy and Wallis

From everything I've seen, Richard only plays well in the backline.

Richards is only best 22 if playing down back. He becomes a liability up forward, and we can't carry guys like him if we're making a serious push for finals. Even McLean is better up forward than Richards..

A small highlights package doesn't really counter my point though. He has struggled in 2019 since moving to the forward and wing compared to an impressive 2018. His stats across the board dropped, in return for 1 extra goal for the season

Footy is back (nearly) and so am I.
Thought I'd drop my round 2 team. I've tried to add extra speed and youth to make use of the shorter qtrs whilst keeping experience across the board. Also would like to see 4+ of these guys tried on the wing in the absence of Hunter. Left the bench at 4 even though it'll Probablybe more come game day in which case reinstate some of the outs.

Ed has some good moments forward but is far too inconsistent there. I'd rather him play at his best down back, plus we have enough forward targets now.

Exactly. Highlight reels show what he's capable of when he gets clear possession.
The reasonable knock on him has been that he doesn't get enough of it.

He moved forward halfway through 2018, I think he's only had one more game down back since. I think more goals would be a bonus but he brings excellent pressure (not fully reflected in his tackle stats, pressure acts would be better). He's not getting a spot above the dozen other half backs in front of him so I'm fine with him forward.

Yea I agree to a certain extent but there aren't to many 3rd year players his size on our list that have a highlights package consisting of a 3 goal game interstate including a goal from outside 50 on the boundary plus an incredible checkside banana goal in Ballarat... I'd say the kid has a nose for goal and that's something that can't be taught. Maybe they should persist with him down there to develop the craft.

Can't see Bevo omitting Suckling and Daniel, unless they both had a run of poor games.
I like the Vandermeer and La.Young inclusions, but would be flabbergasted if Bevo picked
a side like that. Not disappointed, but my flabber would definitely be gasted.

I hope you're right, honestly. Maybe if Vandermeer finds a spot down back and we secure a long term wing, then it won't be such a gamble.

There's a number of other options avaliable, including Mclean/Dickson/Jong/Libba, however we need to go back to a similar sort of side to the back end of last year.

I think Vandermeer is being developed as a wing. But much like Richards he maybe better running out of the back.

Flabber can do with the occasional bit of gasting.

As long as your horn isn't swoggled. That could be unpleasant...

Those of you brave enough to anticipate selections for the St Kilda Game, how did you work out your team ?

Well seeing you asked, I just left out the players I don't like who compromise our ball movement and went with some
penetration and grunt forward pressure, I love flexibility and the ability to make moves within the collective. Never
fear though Luke does not listen anymore and thinks that I am quite mad.
