CONFIRMED OUT: Hunter (suspension), Wood (injured), Lewis Young (omited)
BENCH/TO BE CONFIRMED: Richards, Sweet, Jong, Hayes
Don't mind Gowers back in tbh. Gives some mongrel which was clearly missing round 1 and he should be good for a couple goals hopefully

Lipinski is a very good in but where is Gowers fitting? Replacing L Young? Why aren't the likes of Gardner, Dale, Cavarra dropped? Libba beats any other mid player outside our Big 3 to a spot any day of the week.

Ffs our theyve brought in some talls and we have a pretty undersized backline.

If gowers and hayes make it to the main team I'll rage.

I held out hope for Gardner but his rd1 game was deplorable.

Beveridge really blows my mind with his team selections.

Excited to see Vandermeer and im glad Cavarra gets another chance.

Young out over Gardner is baffling. Sure he shit himself Round 1, but 90% of our players even our experienced ones did (JJ shat himself, Lloyd shat himself etc). Gardner's contribution to our team is a singular goal against West Coast in a 70 point drubbing their way.

Maybe some more of the experience assistant coaches could have made the strange selection choices. Rohan Smith Guido etc :)

A lot of same same about our forward line again dale gowers and Wallis all play more as marking forwards than crumbing, think we are missing some speed and crumbing down there hope cavarra stays in or Richards would have liked weightman in.
Midfield has improved with the inclusions and likely inclusions.
Backline decent but would have kept Lewis young in over Gardner.
Overall a bit disappointed by the selections and team named.

Whenever I'm not upset with a team is a bad sign, because I always end up painfully wrong, but...

I like it. There's nothing Young brings as a forward that Gowers can't (should be played as a defender but that's a whole argument). Lipinski brings skill inside and out. The less I say about Hunter the better. Vandermeer yet to be seen. Wood was one of our betters last round but the defence is more balanced right now. The rest will have to wait until we confirm the bench.

Ryder stays in for Saints. He won't cause too much trouble forward but if English stays alone he'll have to be on his toes against two.

I agree. Would've rather had Young in defence over Gardner, but maybe he's improved on aspects in training since round 1? Gotta trust the selection committee on that one...

I otherwise love the look of our defence. Right balance of speed, height and rebounding.

I like the Gowers return. Not sure I like having what is basically 4 marking medium forwards in Lloyd, Gowers, Wallis and Dale, but we'll have to see how it goes.
