I genuinely don't think that's an issue for the club. They're not protecting Lmac on this IMO, just Hardeman carrying a few things. He will be in when ready - and someone will make way that hasn't for a while.

Shocked Dawson has been picked. Has looked rubbish more often than not behind the ball at vfl level. Not many options though so might as well get a look at him at the level. Hopefully his level rises with better players around him.

I still want Hardeman in asap, shift Daniel up into the Spargo role if need be.

The criticism of Dawson this year at VFL level has been absolutely bewildering, bordering on disrespectful. I've missed one game, which was against GWS so unless he got taken to the cleaners in that, I don't fully understand where the constant shitcanning comes from. I would personally describe his defensive work this year as somewhere between good to very good for every game I've seen and I'm glad his form has been rewarded, especially at the expense of Corr.

Now is he still prone to the odd brainfart? Yes
Is his disposal still occasionally heart in mouth? Yes
Am I concerned about him and Comben going for the same ball, attempting to dispose of the ball to each other and just generally being in the same vicinity as each other? Yes, yes I am.

But I think it's a great time to bring him in in the lead up to the bye where he should get 3 weeks of favourable match-ups on forwards/2nd rucks with Mcdonald/McLean this week, Maley next week and Read the week after and possibly after the bye as well against Cox-head.

His ruck style is more in line with Trembath’s leaping style, but his follow up work is X like. Could easily play first ruck if given time and development. Not even 21.

It is striking that the two best looking centre square ruckman aren’t actually ruckman. Considering Goad put up good numbers for jumping at the combine, can only assume our ruck coach doesn’t know how to coach leapers

OP soreness is what I was told by a decent source (looked it too as he wasn’t striding out and he was playing deep defender for a few weeks). Last week was definitely better, so not long now. Hopefully same with Goat in a month or so.

Don’t want to get my hopes up too much but imagine being able to select Hardeman and Goater.
