OUT: Jacobs (Ankle), Mackay (Delisted)
IN: O'Brien, Walker

TEAM:

B: Brown - Hartigan - Lever
HB: Laird - Talia - Smith
C: Cameron - Sloane - Atkins
HF: Lynch - Walker - Douglas
F: Betts - Jenkins - McGovern
R: O'Brien - Crouch - Crouch
I: Thompson - Lyons - Seedsman - Cheney
Haha :D

Is that a bF made up rule last in first out? That is hilarious, imagine if afl clubs adopted that policy I would piss my pants
All other things being equal, then yes, it's fairly common. Assuming that it doesn't create a structural problem, then dropping the lowest ranked player out of the team makes perfect sense.

Even if selection is based on the LIFO principle, which it may well be, I'm fairly sure that the last man in was Seedsman - not Mackay.
And how do you know this?

AFC already have - Hendo was dropped after a 20 disposal game earlier this year. Wasn't WOG that day from what I remember, but still made way.

No-one who was on the edge pushed their case less than Mackay tonight.

Can.. and probably will be (ignored). CEY doesn't even appear to be on the selectors' radar. I think they've made up their mind about him, and have no intentions of playing him unless absolutely forced to do so. Given that the only injury (touch wood) coming out of this game was Jacobs' ankle, and ROB is his ready-made replacement, I think it's highly unlikely that CEY will be selected next week.
Did you see the reserves? He was very, very good.

Atkins' strength became a weakness today. I normally love how he doesn't just blaze away and takes his time and finds the better option. However, today he held it too long and tried to find the perfect option instead of moving the ball on. Needs to find the balance.

And how do you know this?
Last week Mackay was the travelling emergency, not Seedsman. That means that he was the player the selectors wanted if someone ahead of him dropped out. Going back another week, Seedsman was not in the team named to play Collingwood, coming in as a late emergency.

Conclusion: Seedsman is currently behind Mackay in the selection order... at least he was prior to today's game.

Seriously do you honestly think clubs have a last in first out policy? Or are you just taking the piss

Are so we don't judge players on form .....Atkins will be good, so we can accept a number of crap games, because he may be good next year ......BTW did you watch Atkins final last year b4 he was dragged at 3/4 time ......but hey, lets play him in this years g=finals irrespective of form

Meanwhile, Mackay plays a reasonable game but gets lambasted because of your Lemming bias ........do you have an independant thought in you or are you keen to be part of the cool group .....or is it that you're more afraid to stand alone with a thought that the majority hates ......me i just think your afraid of internet bullying

No because when the Rat plays a bad game it is the exception and not the norm and you can wear this from a less than 50 game player

However DMac's good games are the exception and not the norm and I can't cop this from a 150 game player

WW bottom line is that DMac does not impact the contest, he can't stick tackles, he gets pushed off the ball and he struggles to break a tackle

Noble and Campo ante big reasons why this guy keeps getting a game and I know this for a fact and yes his form at start of the year even though not great he was doing just enough to hold his spot however he is no again in putrid territory and surely even you can see this

In terms of comparing DMac with the likes of Rat or Seed well at least when these two have an off day they do have qualities that can still have an impact on the game however DMac has FA in his kitbag.

He is just a meh footballer being selected on perceived potential with minimal performances over the years to back it up and is lucky to have someone in his corner who gave him a 4 year deal and who has a strong voice at match committee

As a player he just can't be trusted

No.. and I haven't commented on how he played. My comments were about the selectors, and their team selection policies - not about CEY himself.
I would be very surprised if they ignored how he played today. It was full beast mode.

After some big performances in the 2s after some down weeks the pressure is ramping up again.

Yeah .....for 150+ games .....give me a break, the argument holds no water at all

His weaknesses are known to all including the coaching panel ......his strengths are known by only a few ......but they're the few that count

What I would do....

Out:
Jacobs (inj), Thommo (managed), Mackay (omit)

In:
O'Brien, CEY, Walker

(massive apologies to Wigg who only isn't in next week because he didn't play at any level this week)

What I think will happen....

Out:
Jacobs (inj)

In:
O'Brien

They way i see it, Mckay and Seed came in for Tex and Hendo. Tex is an automatic in if healthy. Therefore if tex comes back in, one of those guys goes out assuming form from other players is sound.

So, who played better out of Seed and Mckay? The worse of the two get's dropped. I was at the game, however, it was with three girls under 10 so i didn't get the quality viewing i wanted and we left at 3 qtr time.

If hendo is healthy, i reckon he comes back through the 2s. Sauce, well it looked like they tried to get him up during the game then shelved the idea. I reckon he's a chance to play, and i say this having zero medical experience but plenty of rolled ankle experience. So what i'd like to see:

- Tex (if healthy) in for Mckay/Seed
- ROB in for Sauce (if injured)
- CEY in for Thommo (if rested)
- Night games IN, day games with pre-teen girls OUT (they had a ball as usual though).
