If Pratt goes then Taz comes in.

If Wrighty ain't right then I would consider bringing in Cunners and play him off a hff and rotating through the middle.

I'd promote Speight and play Levi as the sub.

Cunners needs a run in the twos.

Not a bad idea - hasn't done Cruize any harm (even if I wasn't inclined to drop him in the first place); Azza translated good VFL form to AFL; and apparently LA was BOG on the weekend, which hopefully will give him confidence and touch when he comes back. Pratty may not have set the world alight, but he's been servicable after forcing his way into the firsts (leaving aside his first quarter on Saturday).

Pedersen is the only one I can think of that struggled - but CHF against Geelong at Skilled is a big ask.

Yeah, that'd work.

Edit: Although, with Werribee not playing this weekend perhaps Levi needs another game in the twos before coming in. Maybe Anthony to get the sub role?

Cunnington, Anthony, Greenwood, Campbell, Bastinac and McIntosh out of our midfield rotations on the weekend, and Melbourne were undermanned? Pfft. Gimme a break.

Is that what they're calling colonics these days?

Strange way to fix a bung shoulder.

No wonder it wasn't fixed! *It's actually the injection of fluid into the shoulder capsule to free up movement.

I wondered why, at the time, the doc donned the glove!

Mooooooooon Riverrrrrrrrrrr............

Just because Thomas didn't get much of the ball himself today doesn't mean he wasn't a vital cog in the win.

Had 5 forward line tackles in a team that killed Melbourne due to forward line pressure. Game was played in our half after quarter time and the pressure on Melbourne coming out of defense was a massive factor in that.

Personally think calls to drop him show a lack of footy knowledge.

Agreed. There was about 3 or 4 times LT was all by himself 30m out and the kick into him was about 10cm too high. If the delivery was better he would have kicked 3 and BF would be happy. LT worked hard, good pressure and setup a couple of goals.

LT doesn't *need* to kick goals if another forward stands up. If he's having a quiet one he can just lead the forward pressure and be another defensive match up.

Upon having a ponder about this weeks game I think that Taz has to come in.

The reason being if Brown plays and gets off the leash we will need to swing Dish or Lachy into defence. Taz is about the only back that has a natural Fwd side to him.

We will need to be adaptable enough to counter if Brown is up and gets them going and still maintain structures going forward.

As to who gets dropped I am not sure.

FWIW I think it will be abitious for Brown to play and I am expecting that it is unlikely that he will.

For us, to be cliche' it should be horses for courses this week.

The boost that he will give the entire team if he plays will be noticable.

I think this game is similar to the game against Essendon last year. You just knew that with so much media fire they would come out fighting.

If Brown plays he would only need to hit the score board a few times and it'll lift Brisbane. We need to be very aware of it and counter if required. I still believe we will win, the task may just be harder.

:D

Dr Hopoate, I presume?

Wouldn't be far off having no changes but if available:

OUT: Atley (recovery / regroup)
IN: Greenwood

Cunnington to come back through VFL and knock up some confidence boosting numbers.

Can see the arguments for Tarrant re Brown but not sure I'd want to take anyone out of the defence for him.

LT, Wright, Harper would be retained.

Surely, Brown couldn't kick a bag against us after missing 8 weeks of footy?

He's notorious for hitting the ground running. Didn't play any pre-season games, yet come round 1 he kicked 4 goals vs Freo in a half and looked set for a big tally before McPharlin caved his face in.

He has been able to do basically full training for the last 5 or so weeks so fitness shouldn't be an issue. Whether there are any mental effects from the facial injuries is the big unknown.

Are we talking about the same Jonathon Brown?

The man has a flagrant disregard for his own safety.

Jonathan 'I don't run on me face' Brown will be up for it if he plays, don't worry about that.

I'm somewhat disturbed that one of the toughest men in football also has one of the softest names. Jonathan. Doesn't exactly inspire fear.

Apologies to anyone named Jonathan on these boards.

I reckon the only person who calls him Jonathan is his Mum. No one else would be dumb enough to give him shit for it.

Can't you see it being a Mad Monday dare for one of the Brisbane rookies?

"Go up and call him Jonathan the girl's blouse. If you can walk away from him after it we'll shout you beers for the rest of the day."

He's exactly the sort of player we should single out for treatment in order to make a statement.

Well thats one way to clear a spot ion the rookie list.

This is probably not the week for Greenwood, given Werribee had a bye this week. He probably needs one or two more good VFL games.

I'd normally agree, but he has had a few weeks in the VFL already and the fact that he can play the sub role and maybe only play 30-40 minutes means he can be eased into it.

I'm probably wrong, but I thought it was two? Including his first game back where he came off with fears that he had reinjured his ankle.
