For me, we were very good today so lets try and avoid changes.

The only one I'd like is Bate out for Gysberts, but its also important to note Clark's injury.

If Mitch is unfit, bring in Cook rather than Martin who just isn't converting.

JMac, Dunn, Davey all good enough today.

Anyone says drop Bate you can G&GF. He is a whipping oy around these parts but he ****ING BRAINED IT TODAY!

Clark was just concussion and he looked alright after the game so I would think he would be right.

Would love Gysberts to be back but I thought Bate was ok. I thought Dunn wasn't that great.

Dunn was awesome for me

Dunn was awesome for me
Dunn went in hard and took a couple of good marks but he just seems to slow with the ball, seems like he is in 2 minds or he just hacks at the ball

Moloney for Gysberts, if he is match fit. If not, Bail.

No other changes. Bate doesn't punish the opposition but its rough to drop him. Give Tappy a week at the VFL.

I didn't know people wore moonboots to treat concussion
Really was he, I'm going off the AFL website which says concussion.

Yeah he hurt his foot/ankle in that collision too, hopefully nothing too bad. Don't know who should go but I'd like Gysberts in too.

He didn't hurt his foot in the collision. He was looked at after a goal in the first quarter.

That was for his knee, when Manger kneed him in the head Davis also landed awkwardly on Mitch's foot.

As for changes;

IN: Bail
OUT: Bate

Bater was solid, but this is for team balance.

If Clark is out I'd bring in Martin as 2nd ruck and move Watts to the forward-line.

please no Stefan Martin. He has a horrible footy brain and is a shocking kick.

In - Luke Tapscott

Out - James Magner

Magner has been struggling for 2 months now, and Tappy should come straight back into the side.

I reckon Gysberts needs 1 more week at Casey.

I pray Clark isn't injured, there was whispers he might have a foot fracture.

Out: Moloney, want someone else and I have to pick someone so I'm going to go with Bate
In: Gysberts, Strauss

He landed awkwardly he reckons, scans tomorrow

Bate 28 touches, 7 inside 50's and a goal

Not a chance he gets dropped bro
More that I had to pick someone.

I really want Strauss back for his kick-outs. Seriously. He's ready to go, was v. good in a tough Casey game. Just don't know who to take out.

Whispers of a stress fracture in his foot apparently, this doesn't just happen over night - the club would be well aware if he had a hot-spot prior to this game.

I think he should be alright.

Clark's injury throws a bit of a spanner in the works doesn't it.
If Clark is hurt I reckon keep Riv and Garlo up forward, then maybe bring Davis into the backs for his debut?
B: T McDonald, Frawley, Davis
HB: Watts, Sellar, Nicho
C: Magner (Could use a rest though), Jones, Bate
HF: Howe, Rivers, Sylvia
FF: Davey, Garland, S. Martin (? Hear he had plenty of the ball at Casey but used it pretty poorly. Still will be handy as a backup for Jamar and could stretch the Lions defence rotating him and Russian through the forward line)
R: Jamar, Trenners, Grimes
Int: Jordie, Gys, Dunn, Sub: Blease
(IN: Davis, Gysberts, Martin; OUT: Clark, Moloney, MacDonald)
Moloney wasn't very involved it seemed for me so could be an out. Had Couch had a cracker I'd say give him a game, although he was ordinary at Casey (aside from kicking the match-winner) correct? Gysberts would be worth a shot though I reckon.
Ditto for JMac, didn't do a lot, although he is a tryer.
If Clark is fit I'd change him for Stef, will be interesting to see how Lions fans react to him if he does play.

I generally don't mind him, but I want Gysberts in.

Reckon he'll need another week, was a bit unsure when I met him yesterday and asked if he'd be match fit for Brisbane, said his Jaw was still a bit sore and he'd find out during the week. Might have another week at Casey.

Not a bad team, would make a couple of changes though. I'd like to finally give Cook a go instead of putting Martin in, I think it's time even though he probably struggled last week (didn't watch Casey game, though one of my best mates' brother was an umpire in the game so I might get a better idea). Also, if Gys is going to come in, he has to be the sub. Has to. Blease played really well when he came on and Gys would hypothetically be playing his first game of the season.

Really liked the way Joel Mac went about it yesterday. Not the most talented, but gives his all everytime he plays for us. Love that he can come in the side and we know that he will bust his gut for us.

Joel Mac stays.

Other than that, Moloney has been plodding all year with little return. There seems to be a bit of a curse surrounding our reigning B&F winners putting in shit seasons the following year. I want Gysberts in. He, Strauss, Blease, Watts, JT, Tapscott are all ready and need to play out the remainder of the year together. Wouldn't be surprised if they all took a huge step together next year (ala Adelaide)

I think those asking for Bate to be dropped are being extremely Harsh (with a capital). Just finishing watching the replay now and he would be in our bests IMO. Was good with his disposal in general I thought and made decent decisions. His biggest mistake was not kicking his first shot at goal. He should have had a brace and I thought he worked really hard all day.

JMac is another one. What exactly did he do wrong?

If I HAD to pick a player to drop it would be Moloney. However, if he stays in the side, he still attracts a decent midfielder. Who would Raines tag?

We barely had a bad player I thought, so what is the point of making changes because "I really want to see Strauss in the side?" He'll get his chance when we need to make changes to the senior side. If Clark doesn't get up, then Martin would be the obvious choice. He was good against Sandy - took some really good grabs and attacked it hard. Other than that, leave the side alone if we don't need to change it. Let them build some continuity for a change.
