I agree with you in principle, but the equation changes significantly when you have a player like Truck ready to return. One of Shaw & Hartigan will be dropped - that much is clear from the choice to rest Rutten from the SANFL game. I'd rather see Shaw dropped, but dropping Hartigan may be better for the team balance.I know Hartigan had a poor game last week however he was good in the previous weeks
With this in mind a coach Needs to back a young player in after only 1 bad game

Salary Cap implications. What is the downside of upgrading one of our rookies like Cameron?
So if he gets upgraded on Monday he will definitely get selected for Thursday nightSalary Cap implications.
They usually just upgrade them the week before they get selected for their first game. No point in upgrading them if they're not going to be selected.
Unlikely he will play
When will they learn that Martin doesn't have this apparent "pace" that they think he has and don't they understand that he isn't a part of the future and playing him is hindering the development of players who are actually our future.I'd say it's almost certain that he'll replace Jaensch (Martin that is). There's absolutely no reason why they would have pulled Martin from the SANFL team unless he's going to play against Collingwood. Surely everyone can see that.
We all know that's a terrible position for him to play, but this is the unfortunate reaility of being a Crows supporter at the present time.
Based on the SANFL selections, the changes for the Pies game appear (to me) to be:
In:
Walker, Douglas, Cameron, Rutten, Martin
Out:
Lynch, Grigg, Petrenko, Hartigan, Jaensch
They may opt to keep Hartigan in at the expense of Shaw, but the lack of pace would probably be a deciding factor in omitting Hartigan I feel.
Obviously Reilly is in the frame to lose his spot, but I really don't see it happening. Personally I think it's a ******* disgrace if he's selected after completely taking the piss against Melbourne, but what would I know.
Martin or Cameron will be the sub. Or Grigg if he somehow survives (he won't unless an injury occurs between now and Thursday).
If Petrenko AND Reilly both play, I can honestly say that I won't be attending. You can't continue to treat your fans like idiots and expect them to turn up without fail.

Cameron has pretty much all the attributes that Petrenko has but is actually better at them in every way and is much younger and seems to have a much better work ethic that Petrenko.

But really I don't know how many times Petrenko has to go missing in big games for the coaches to understand that he is a spud and only plays well against the bottom teams.I was watching a footy talk show once that said teams are usually decided by their bottom players, because generally the top players of each team cancel each other out.
With Pets and Reilly as our bottom players we give such a ruddy headstart to the opposition.
Even Petrenko's best attributes Rioli is 100 times betterProblem with Petrenko is that he thinks he is Rioli, its like saying a Holden is like a Ferrarri.![]()

Hard to argue with that, he has improved on last year to the fact he has only played games against weaker opposition.I will say though he has improved compared to last year, maybe Betts has assisted with that. Mind you he is still shit, there is no hiding from that.
Pathetic comment.Safe to say that Martin is a disgrace to the #36 guernsey.

But when you get to heavy weights like Collingwood he is a dead set liability.
Alright lets just say he hasn't done it proud.Pathetic comment.
Yeah he's not the best player ever. And probably shouldn't have been on the team this long.
But he's always tried his guts out and seems like a really nice and well respected guy.
I'm not saying we can't be critical of players but that kind of tone feels way out of line.
Thats why spuds like Petrenko must not play and bringing in someone like Martin isn't going to help. When Port beat the Pies in last years finals, I was so impressed because we have consistently failed to beat the Pies in big games like that.
We cannot have any passengers on Thursday night, its going to be hot in the kitchen. Cameron may just give us some x-factor to be excited about.
Not to mention this is easily one of the best lineups that we have produced since the ACL disaster last year.

Bringing in Martin for Petrenko may not be the difference between winning and losing, but it would improve the team by a lot.Thats why spuds like Petrenko must not play and bringing in someone like Martin isn't going to help.
