Except the forecast seems to be pointing to less and less likelihood of rain, and Adelaide have a plethora of talls that could get ahold of us if the weather is decent and our mids don't get on top. Also relies on Timmy being able to ruck half decently after gastro without a recognised chop out. Risky, but hopefully works out.

Ahh righto. I agree, Adelaide have a few talls, but none that are really damaging. We’ll be right 👍

Cordy more so.

Wouldn’t have thought so. I hold my breath every time Trengove does one of his slow kicks.

Cordy does a lot of the stuff that doesn’t get recognised. He’s more important than a lot will give him credit for.

While it’s not ideal, Naughton can pinch hit in the ruck and is very good at it. I don’t really see what Trengove offers besides a backup ruck and a mediocre slow defender

Trengove must play in the unlikely event we play Collingwood. Must.

Cannot have English monstered by Grundy for the entire game again. Trengove has to have a crack at him as well.

I bet he won't tho. If you watch Bevo's presser after both Collingwood games, he virtually dismissed the Grundy having any advantage over us when Tim lost the hitouts.

If we don’t get a lot of rain I imagine we bring Trengove in and drop a small

One tall short in good conditions imo

Did you watch the game last week?

Zero issue with Trengove bring dropped. Some here have their rose coloureds on. He has been costly in a lot of matches this year

I dunno. I thought he helped turn the game for us in the ruck last week and had him in the top 5 or 6 most influential players.

All about perspective I guess.

I'm a little worried that the side is a little too young and inexperienced now. There are a few fringe type players such as Richards, Dale, Hayes and now West playing. We don't know how these guys will go in a finals type game. Think of the experienced and mature bodies on the list who are now on the sidelines for one reason or another:

Picken
Morris
Libba
Wallis
Daniel
Boyd
Trengove
Jong
Williams
Roberts

Its significant

I wonder if we may have reached a tipping point. That's my fear for this game and the possible finals campaign ahead.

People froffing over Youngs second half in a side that kicked 10 goals to zero. Sheeeesh.

Hope the kid stands up tomorrow.

You're missing the point which is that he played a huge part in them kicking zero goals in the second half. His game last week was better than anything Trengove has produced this year and I think Trengove has had a decent year.

If our mids don’t get on top we aren’t winning regardless of who we have in defence. Our midfield should dominate and win us the game. In finals is where I have concerns for our defence.

Agree 1000%.

He should be playing every game and the first name penned in at FB.

We lost early games this year by not having him in the team and I have Bulldogs’ fan sick feeling about tomorrow as well.

If it’s dry, Walker will monster Cordy or Young. Height means nothing when you can be easily bodied out of the way.

Also, Trengove can play ruck and is serviceable forward. He adds strategic flexibility. It’s a no brainer (unless injured).

Don’t stress, Walker hasn’t monstered anyone in 3 years.
The coaches obviously think we can negate Adelaide’s talls and want more mobility in Young and Cordy.

Also, we won our first two games of the season with an undersized backline with no Trenners. We’ve also had putrid losses and fantastic wins with Trenners in the side.
And on top of all that, we smashed GWS with Trenners no where near the backline.

He’s been fantastic this year and is stiff to miss, but Young was good last week and is being backed to take the tall defender role on again.

If we lose on Sunday I’ll put my house on it not being because Trenners isn’t playing.

I hope you’re right, I like Cordy. I just think Trengove down back has been really good and very important in allowing the others to flourish. Cordy and Wood are both better when Trengove is taking the oppositions number one forward.

People worried about Trengove not being available in the side to ruck against Grundy

1. We need to win this week first
2. Its much more likely we play Giants if we win then the Pies
3. Trengove doesn't play ruck, Schache and Naughton chop out the ruck

Lewis Young deserves to keep his spot after last game, and while I cant see him keeping it if we do go into the finals, he's a player that we've pegged for long term and when he plays like he did last week then of course he should get a go. But yeah, Im also nervous about it too its a big game to be playing around with things am very much wishing we could have played it at marvel not ballarat but what can you do

People k
Not sure. There was a ground ball contest and stoppage at the end of the 3rd qtr last week where he looked to have tweeked his hammy. Sat out the last qtr and now missing this week. Pretty sure that’s why he’s out.
I'm sure I saw him on the ground in the last quarter.

Agree, Crows take 9.6 inside50 marks a match, the only team with a lower number are the Suns. Even if it rains a little in the morning, the ball will be slippery and the wind is always a factor at Ballarat so really hard to see it being a day for aerial domibance

Agree to disagree. He was good. But our mids were the biggest reason we stopped them during that run. Dont like the move but happy to back in the MC

Young was very good last week. Very good. Trengrove worked hard and did a job all day, could be sore?
Young looks better than Trengove, more mobile and no clangers

Not sure if they registered as official "clangers" - but Young muffed a couple of plays in the first. But hey that can happen to anyone and he played very very well from then on.
