Which is why he was always dropped.

But his good consistent footy as a defender is something he has probably learned from. Learned how forwards are shut down and can be better for it, as well as acclimatising to AFL pace.

Seems to have a tank now for a full game as well.

I think we should play him anyway regardless of how he plays today at Peel. If Balla's is out, which looks exceedingly likely, then he is a realistic forward option....Especially against Gold Coast who are traveling as badly as us. Throw him in at the deep end. Sink or swim. He seems to rise on big occasions.

So sad to see Barlow look so disconsolate and to hear Ballas is injured (I thought both played well). Also sad because neither Sutcliffe nor Sheridan deserve to play next week. I honestly don't know whether or not I am unfair on Sutcliffe; I see red every time he gets the ball, even before he disposes of it. kudos for the mark and goal in the 4th but gee he stopped momentum a few times in the first half. I though Gu was (surprisingly) better than both

Definetely those are the outs, Yarran would seriously have to come into contention with both Pav and Ballantyne out.. he's our only forward option.
