Mine;
OUT: Himmelberg(rest), Galucci, Knight, Hartigan, Atkins
IN: Jenkins, McHenry, MCrouch, Lynch, Fogarty
I'd like to see that against an underwhelming Melbourne this week. McHenry would inject pace, the Fog mongrel, both enthusiasm but:
--- it's a helluva trip, gonna be warm/clear but bit steamy (can anyone up there confirm, please? Willyweather says clear/31C), enervating for all
--- it would be 5 changes, unprecedented for Pyke, so, unlikely.
--- does the Fog have good form, to be promoted?

We lost by a goal to the premiers, unlikely there will be wholesale changes, but should there be?

Crouch and Lynch were missed who goes out, will they recall gibbs, he has had a back all year, Mackay was crook and has had a great year, Then you have EH who is clearly struggling at the elite level, does JJ need to come in, whether he deserves it or not he is the only replacement for EH we have or could lynch replace him

so on the outside potential ins

Crouch Lynch Mackay

Maybe ins

Gubbs JJ

Outs

Jones Knight Atkins

Maybe outs

EH Murphy
Mackay has had a great year? Why is the bar set so low for a 200 game player?

This board is obsessed with the romance of bringing in unproven talent rather than the reality, which is as follows:

- Fog ain’t up to it. And may never be. (Please refer to the cold, hard stats)

- Mcadam will NOT play a game this year. He is the unfittest bloke the club has seen in some time (refer to assistant coach who I spoke to).

- Dropping Tex or Betts is plain counterproductive when there is nothing to replace them with (see Fog post above, or refer to Stengle post below)

- Stengle has serious defensive deficiencies. Full stop.

The less posters have seen of our Twos this year, the more adamant they are that The FOG must be promoted. He started the season forward and really struggled. He was moved to defence and struggled. Last week he played forward against the Magpies (who apparently had pygmy defenders) and racked up 11 disposals.
The FOG doesn’t turn 20 until the end of this season, we have to be patient.

McAdam does lack fitness but he still looks classy, I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a run later in the season.

Stengle’s fitness level is well behind Murphy but he kicks goals, I expect him to get a run in the Ones this year.

I agree re Tex and Eddie.

“Jake) Lever, (Mitch) Hannan, (Michael) Hibberd, (Christian) Salem, (Alex) Neal-Bullen, (Steven) May, (Kade) Kolodjashnij, (Sam) Weideman and (Jay) Kennedy Harris are all available next week," Goodwin said.”

Our timing is impeccable!..

although word is that Lever is doubtful with a rolled ankle...

This is my question re Fog. We all want to see him, I certainly do. But is he showing enough to demand selection?

If Fog was at any other club outside the top 6 the. They would be pumping games into him. If you traded him tomorrow there would be interest. Tex was truely pittaful on the weekend if he doesn't turn it around should be dropped.

Most of those guys aren't really worth worrying about.

3 of them probably won't play and May is as underdone as it gets.

You wouldn’t make too many changes and even more so going to Darwin given the temperature. You don’t want to play any underdone players.

Does it even matter? that f***stick Pyke will probably come out and back Himmerlberg, Galluci, Atkins and Jones again "oh we feel its best for those guys to get more game time, we will back them in to do the job for us this week.. there are still certain areas we need Gibbs, JJ and co to work on" pfft f**** off Pyke you spud!!!
Himmelberg
Jones
Atkins
Galluci should not play for the club again in 2019...

Mchenry has so much more to offer than Jones, Gooch and Atkins.. he is ithcing to go! back him in!

M crouch wont be ready.. as usual his injury is worst than first thought, Lynch pinged a hammy so he wont be back this week.
Gibbs, Jenkins, Dmac(yes Dmac) & Mchenry to come in for Himmelberg, Jones, Atkins and Gooch. Id love for the coaching staff to grow some balls and drop Tex for Fog but we all know that wont happen...
I’ve never read a bigger pile of rubbish

Sam Weideman was pick NINE in the 2015 draft. He is more than 2 years older than Fogarty.
He has played 20 games of AFL. Fogarty has played 10 games in a season and a half.

I have plenty more of these if you want them.

Don’t let the facts get in the way of a good argument.

Good for you. Fact is we are lacking a key forward.

Your point is decent, but fogarty has the body, most key forwards dont.

Would Fog offer less than Tex did last week?

It's not like he hasn't played any AFL & has another preseason under his belt.

Has ROB offered less than Jacobs, prior to his injury?

Its some interesting questions posed.

Fog's omission especially in light of Lynch being out and Berg hitting the wall was baffling. It felt like we were down a big man up forward.

Fog would have commanded their third best defender too.

Stengle, Fog, McHenry they are players that we could use to reinvent our forward line and provide some X factor.

To go deep into September we are going to need something different to the team we are fielding at the moment, because we are not a threat to the Top 4-6 teams.
I agree but history says we wont make so many changes and thats a pity. If we dont change as you have suggested we are just going to finish 7th 8th or 9th.

I must admit if Tex went back to SANFL he would dominate - and JackisBack is right that a few SANFL players have been up and down. I would however swap Fog for Big Easy if JJ ain't coming back. Guess the main problem this week is its in Darwin and it will be tempting to be conservative. I do like the look of McAdam and Stengle. Butts. Wilson and a few others ... maybe use the gouch's spot to spin through a few between now and season end.

Tex clearly has an issue with his head space. The sooner he goes back to the sanfl & dominates to get back his mojo, the better. Right now he is a liability. We lose nothing by playing Fog instead, at least for a patch of games like EH.

Similarly EH needs a break after a good run, so JJ should return & we keep some experience in our forward line.
